Its fairly easy to make shit graphics look nice from certain camera angles and distances.
cant wait to get this on PC launch day half a year after it comes out on consoles
I'm hoping this gets released at the start of the next generation of consoles. The graphics don't even look like they'd be possible on 360.
It looks great but I think if an Xbox can handle RDR, it could do this
It looks great but I think if an Xbox can handle RDR, it could do this
Many of these screens look much better than RDR though. We can't rule out that GTA V may be a next gen title.
It looks so much warmer than GTA IV. Maybe even a bit exaggerated, like the sims 3. Mostly the tennis picture. Altough I actually prefer it over a bland feel.
Whoever heads the marketing for this game is fucking genius. We know virtually know nothing about the game other than what a handful of screen shots tell us and I'm still super fuckin hyped for this game.

Well as far as I'm concerned.
I get reasonably excited about game releases, but since GTA 3 I literally pop a gut waiting for the next release. I am missing loads of organs because of Rockstar.
Since Max Payne 3 came out on PC on release date, I have a feeling this will come on PC on release date too.
Many of these screens look much better than RDR though. We can't rule out that GTA V may be a next gen title.
What if the next Xbox released this Fall/Winter and GTA 5 is a launch title/launches next April/May.
This is going to be on Steam, right?
What if the next Xbox released this Fall/Winter and GTA 5 is a launch title/launches next April/May.
True, given how journalists have been quick to point out that they haven't even announced what platforms it will come out for.
This is going to be on Steam, right?
If Max Payne 3 is any indication, yeah. Plus I don't think Rockstar has their own service for that sort of thing.
I'm getting a Just Cause 2 vibe. I like that vibe.
Since Max Payne 3 came out on PC on release date, I have a feeling this will come on PC on release date too.
MP3 PC release was delayed by 16 days.
That parachute picture is pretty sexy
It looks great but I think if an Xbox can handle RDR, it could do this
RDR did not have as much detail as a GTA game usually has.
True, given how journalists have been quick to point out that they haven't even announced what platforms it will come out for.
This better come out on PC.
This better come out on PC.
Can't see why it won't. Every GTA to Date (except for the hand-held games and their PS2 ports) have been on the PC. That Canyon looks like it would be a great place to drive the Mesa Grande.
It would appear that there are either two protagonists or they have finally put full character customization in it since in this picture: there appears to be a white Mafia-looking guy piloting the jet, and in this picture: It looks like it is a black guy who is using the parachute.

NPCs that do more than walk around randomly Rockstar have you created a masterpiece?
I am betting that the guy in the jet must be the main character, since I doubt there are many people driving jets in suits.
The graphics aren't that great. If you look at the tennis pic, the bushes have about 4 vertexes. Not saying it looks bad in anyway, it looks lush, but i'm pretty sure it's the console version.
The hedges in that screenshot are obviously represented as being trimmed into those shapes.
I am betting that the guy in the jet must be the main character, since I doubt there are many people driving jets in suits.
He's the one they've shown the most. He was throughout much of the announcement trailer, and has been in several of the screenshots for it, and he seems to be the one speaking in the trailer. They did however show the black guy being chased by the police down the alleyway by the police in the trailer. One of the original rumors was that the game would feature multiple player-characters throughout the story. However, I'm not such a big fan of that idea.

I can't imagine many random NPCs in control of a jet like that. I could imagine random NPCs parachuting though or perhaps this is for a mission/pure advertising material. I don't think we'll be seeing multiple protagonists. I really hope we don't. Feels like it'd rob the story of character development and I don't see how it'd work for a pure open world game.
I wouldn't be surprised to see NPCs doing random activities like that. NPCs in GTA need more Ambient Behaviour, sure in GTA4 you seen them walking with Groceries, taking out Umbrellas when it rains, but not a whole lot of ambient behaviours.
Well, in the Tennis screenshot, we see two NPCs playing with each other. I imagine a base jumping behavior wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Mainly you'd need to established certain areas and paths for them to follow. Not that hard.
This is going to be on Steam, right?
Of course, Rockstar normally have a standalone copy and a steam copy, both use social club which is more advanced than what it was in IV. And I think they have dropped GFWL thank fuck.
Since Max Payne 3 came out on PC on release date, I have a feeling this will come on PC on release date too.
Rockstar doesn't seem to have any protocol for this, I'm sure it must be different people who decide what to do each time I guess due to there being so many different divisions of Rockstar GTA IV came out six months later and was a shit port, LA Noire came out six months later and was an acceptable port, RDR didn't come out at all, MP3 came out on launch They do seem to be doing Steamworks pretty consistently now though (LA Noire and MP3)
I'm thinking the reason why MP3 was on PC so close to the Console release because MP3 was orignally a PC Franchise. Most of the fans are PC gamers.
