Effective range of 9mm SMG's tends to be about 200 meters. PPSH used a lighter round, so it was only effective out to about 150 meters. Contrary to what bolt action elitists will tell you, a bolt action is pretty much utter shit for anything other than marksman duty at ranges that you will legitimately see in combat. This is basically a perfect illustration of why we use intermediate cartridges today instead of the crazy big calibers of WWII. In reality, you just aren't going to engage much past 300 meters.
Weird, I always heard the MP40, in every case, having a 100m effective range. Anything past that and you are lucky to hit the side of a barn. I defer to GunFox on military matters though.
Bandaging didn't make you ready to fight war in 2 seconds after being shot either. Loosen up, it's a game.
If you've ever played Ro, then would know the MASSIVE ATTENTION TO DETAIL they put into it. Shut up. [editline]25th September 2011[/editline]
have they fixed smgs being as accurate as sniper rifles at long range there's no bullet drop so they're accurate as fuck
There's not bullet drop. Really? Wow.
If you've ever played Ro, then would know the MASSIVE ATTENTION TO DETAIL they put into it. Shut up.
A truly massive attention, especially to truly massive trams and doors
Ro1 is still alot funner.
A truly massive attention, especially to truly massive trams and doors
And those massive Moist-Nuggets. Takes like half a team to properly operate that thing.

Wow.
There's bullet drop. It's just not that noticeable since most maps have ranges that are less then 200 meters. So it wouldn't really be noticeable. Play with a tank mg and you'll notice the drop.
Ro1 is still alot funner.
SMGs pointing to the sky at the slightest click of the mouse and having to stop when exhausted only to have artillery rain down on you. Fun. [editline]25th September 2011[/editline] I did enjoy RO, I just enjoy RO2 a lot more.

[editline]25th September 2011[/editline] I did enjoy RO, I just enjoy RO2 a lot more.
When they remake the map with the Reichtag building in Berlin, then I will think the infantry part of RO2 is fun. The tank play is absolutely amazing!
Ro1 is still alot funner.
RO2 has the potential to be more fun. The infantry combat and presentation are outstanding. The problem is most of this potential remains untapped. I am hoping for a Darkest Hour 2 to really liven up the gameplay.
When they remake the map with the Reichtag building in Berlin, then I will think the infantry part of RO2 is fun. The tank play is absolutely amazing!
Other way around for me, I think RO2's infantry action is excellent, and that it's Tank Play is awful.
have they fixed smgs being as accurate as sniper rifles at long range there's no bullet drop so they're accurate as fuck
You know, SMGs are fucking accurate in real life and RO2 is a 'realistic' game. Also, there's bullet drop but bullet drop only becomes noticeable at 200+ meters. I enjoyed the RO1 tank combat, there are MASSIVE maps with all kinds of tanks... where you actually have to pixelhunt with the tank optics. Many minimods and custom maps which make the game alot of fun. I hope RO2 lives up to being a true sequel of RO1 some day.
all RO has even been is a "realism" circle jerk, its not realistic at all, and its not fun so people should stop playing it and play arma its 1000x better
They need to add exploding dogs and a zombie mode for it to be a good gaem.
Strangly enough, a zombie mode MIGHT just work. Maybe something they should try out at some point.
The map is fun with maybe 20 people. It helps new players a get a feel for the controls and taking cover and such without having to figure out where the fuck they are getting shot from. I rather enjoy close quarters, it's an exciting refreshment from the long range battles.
What exciting refreshment from long range battles? They don't exist here because everyone keeps playing TE_APARTMENTS [editline]26th September 2011[/editline]
all RO has even been is a "realism" circle jerk, its not realistic at all, and its not fun so people should stop playing it and play arma its 1000x better
ones a modern war simulator and another one is a realism based WWII video game LETS COMPARE IT
all RO has even been is a "realism" circle jerk, its not realistic at all, and its not fun so people should stop playing it and play arma its 1000x better
You call RO a circle jerk of realism then say go and play Arma? Hypocrite.
all RO has even been is a "realism" circle jerk, its not realistic at all, and its not fun so people should stop playing it and play arma its 1000x better
I disagree with both arguments
You call RO a circle jerk of realism then say go and play Arma? Hypocrite.
In his defense, Arma is a better representation of combat in general. RO is extremely limited in terms of what you can bring to a fight. Aircraft aren't present, vehicles don't show up in realistic numbers, the maps are constrained, etc etc.
