So does this game actually have many new cars in it?

no

Not many, and you don't need them.
Well that kind of sucks, I enjoyed driving around in SR3 and SR2
Whoa what? They made DLC for the DLC? Hahahahaha!!!!
I'm wondering why they couldn't throw in a few car racing missions to make cars a bit more useful.

You can preorder the DLC too
They could've made cars flyable, that would've been rad.
Why do you need cars in SRIV.
Why do you need cars in SRIV.
For the brief duration in the simulation when you don't have superpowers yet.
New useless dlc, and a patch that broke the Commander in Chief dlc. Awesome
Played it for about 4 hours and I'd say it's not worth 50 euros/bucks. It's fun, don't get me wrong, but for someone who played the shit out of 3, this one feels too similar. The fact that city is same is really boring and I have little desire to explore.
sr4 should've been an expansion pack, more than half the game is all the same shit from sr3, and now they start doing this shit
unfuckingbelievable
SRIV was definitely worth $50 to me. I've already put 20 hours into the game and I'm only barely 50% done according to the game's stats. I'm already enjoying it way more than I enjoyed SRTT. That said, I was really hoping they wouldn't pull the same DLC shit as last time. I was hoping that Deep Silver would be better than that. I guess not.
At the same time, at least it's like last time where you're not missing out on any actual content by not purchasing the DLC so I'll take the same "whatever" stance I had with SRTT. I'll probably buy them all anyway when the DLC goes on sale for $5 for the whole pack like last time, too.

Even though Saints Row IV was my first Saints Row game, I don't think it's worth $50.
It felt way too short and repetitive, they could of done a lot more with it.
Well that kind of sucks, I enjoyed driving around in SR3 and SR2
Then you'll still enjoy driving around in 4.
"The old mechanic that used to be fun is now less fun because the developers made a mechanic that's even more fun! Making fun things is bad game design! They should make superpowers less fun so that I use cars again!" - Everybody ever about cars being useless.
I thought 4 was pretty good. It took me 17-18 hours to do the story, with minimal screwing around.
I like how it has much more customization than the others (I didnt buy any dlc for the others, so theres much more than im used to.)
Theres new car parts, new cars, new clothing, the gun customization is brand new.
I felt that in 3, the city was rather boring. With the high jumping, its actually not that bad. In 3, i just drove threw the city, never really explored it. Now that im out, jumping around, its pretty neat.
I still drive quite a bit, i like customizing cars and just driving them around.
Ive only bought a few games at full price this year (Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, and SR4) And so far, SR4 is the only one i feel that i truly got my $60 worth out of it
I put in a solid 30 hours for 100% completion, minus the co-op activities, and I'm certain I would have put in more, but I didn't have co-op and I only had the game for 5 days (rented.)
It was a solid Saints Row title, the story was good, the gameplay was good, and there was plenty of old-style Saints Row humor. There were noticeably new vehicles and clothing, there just weren't a lot of them. The new weapon system was fantastic and the use of music throughout the game as well as the quality of the radio stations was absolutely the best part, imo.
People like to exaggerate some things, like the usefulness of cars, the amount/quality of new clothes and cars, and the city layout simply because it's not their beloved SR2/Stilwater.
I'm up there with the next guy wishing they'd take a step back and make the next game more like 2. The amount of customization, easter eggs, hidden areas, clothing layers, etc. but SRIV certainly stand well on it's own. I still personally hold 2 at the top of my Saints Row list, but at the very least IV was much better than Saints Row: The Third.
tbh if SRIV actually was a DLC it would've been a really fuckin hype one
Its still shitty old steelport, re modeled buildings or not its the same boring map from 3
It doesn't feel the same though, I spent most of my time traveling around The Third via car. Now I'm running up skyscrapers and sprinting across water and it's a fresh experience.

If nobody knew that Enter the Dominatrix was originally going to be a DLC, nobody would be having this discussion. Nobody would care that it would have "been better as a DLC." The reaction would have been like nearly every modern sequel.

If this game was DLC, people would be saying "This is a huge DLC, they should have made it the sequel!"

Saying IV is SR3 DLC now just shows how much you don't know about it.
With this logic shouldnt every expansion ever be DLC???
I'll just wait for Full Package or whatever it's gonna be called this time.
Stimulus Package
With exclusive ridiculous special dildo weapon. It will be a double ender. It will have red and blue stripes. It will be called: CONGRESS
Calling it now.

They replaced some weapons. Added some mini-games. Made the world the Matrix. And gave you Super Powers making everything (cars and weapons) completely useless during the entirety of the game.
Not only is SR4 DLC. But it's over priced DLC.
They even said it themselves that SR4 was meant to be DLC in the beginning.

They replaced weapons, added weapon customization (most guns end up having 2-3 completely different models,) added quite a few minigames.
Also, have fun playing the entire game with just super powers and no weapons. I found that 75% of the time, i had to use guns (due to powers reloading, powers not being effective enough, etc.)
Technically, you only have to use cars in the missions. But i ended up driving them a lot, because i love customizing them and testing them out.
It originally was supposed to be DLC, but at this point, its just ignorant to call SR4 DLC. 10 hours of story, if you rush, 20+ if you collect everything. Ive never had a dlc give me that much playtime, in fact most games these days dont give that much playtime
This game seems like it's somewhere in Limbo between a DLC/expansion and a full-on sequel.
That's why I'm going to wait for it to be about $15-$20 at Christmas.

Sr4 pretty much just looks like Sr3 with super hero mods.. Hell, I've seen mods in GTA4 let you do the exact same thing, and some things even better(telekinesis lets you throw people around with proper euphoria ragdoll physics..)
This game should seriously have just been an expansion pack. It would be a huge one, sure, maybe cost around $20-$35, but nothing more..
I mean when looking at a sequel for open world games, you can look at Gta4, and then to Gta5.. Now that is a well deserved sequel, every asset is reworked, new concepts are introduced that cant just be a 5 minute telekinesis mod script, rehaul of the engine, better physics, everything has pretty much been as improved as can be...
Sr3->Sr4 may just as well be a mod, not even an expansion pack. As the animations all look exactly the same, very cheap and stiff. Physics are still just as chunky and clunky. Cars are the same, clothes are ripped straight from the previous game, every action you do is followed by the exact same undynamic reaction, so everything remains stale and repetitive, and so much more wrong with the game they could have fixed in a proper sequel with a real engine overhaul, but no..
Even Bethesda can release content that add at least 20 hours of gameplay to their games and have the decency to not release them as sequels but actually as expansion packs.
They said Sr4 started off as an expansion pack, and it really shows.
There's gonna be more shit.
