Well, it was "remade" and re-released 2 times already; first for the new consoles then for the PC.
But that wouldn't be considered a remake.
Looks like i wasn't the only one that hated the FOV.
Played it recently and kept failing platform parts because of the close FOV.
Looking around, it seems Kaiser's work on Turok EX is being put to good use. Kaiser was responsible for Doom64 EX and helped with the re-release of Strife (both of which are very faithful to the original), so this is awesome.
Just played the first one a couple of days ago, damn map never works without a cheat.
I loved this game on the N64, but damn, do those graphics look shitty now.
The graphics are definitely outdated, but to me there's always been a special charm to N64 graphics, could just be the nostalgia factor forcing my opinion though.
Just think, some of the guys behind the Turok games later went on to make Metroid Prime.
I absolutely loved the first game on the N64, and never really got to play the 2nd game, so I'll definitely be buying these when they come out. Definitely on GOG if this article is any indication.
The visuals may be dated, but the gameplay and level design is what truly matters. Even though Turok's controls on the N64 are rather clunky by today's standards...
Cerebral Bore here I come.
Sadly this will only be a re-release with some fixes.
I'd really like to have a real remake of these games with decent graphics, removing some minor flaws but keeping the classic gameplay.
The last Turok game suffered from beeing an allmost generic shooter with a few Dinos in it.
A Turok game needs big ass weapons that look like they can erease a whole planet, not standart sci-fi shooter guns.
It's about getting creative with the gun usage.
Remember the fun that one could have with the bow and explosive arrows?
Same for most other weapons.
I will never be able to forget the times I spent shooting dead bodies with grenades just to hear them scream.
Turok made my childhood special.

Hopefully the screaming sounds can be ripped from the game, cause they're pretty damn hilarious. Also hoping that modding is possible with these two games because I would love to see what could be done with a level editor or custom enemies.
Edit: I'm wondering if the soundtrack is going to be the uncompressed version like you see on the original PC version or the N64 soundtrack. I think it'd be cool to have the choice between the two.
Even after all these years, the Turok series is still my go-to for explaining how FPS armories should be done. Hell to the yes.
Anyway but me want Evolution aswell?
Screw it, I'm celebrating with a few sessions of the N64 version of Turok: DH. Can't wait for the new PC version and now I'm playing the old version because I can't wait. :v:
