Uh no. Maps should be 100% free. Especially if you're going to pile on 35 maps in total and only 9 are available with the core game. THe minute "optional" DLC becomes a necessity there's something wrong. Weapons should be free too. There should not be guns only available to some and not to others. That's bullshit.
You should email Gabe and ask him to give everyone in steam every TF2 weapon then and while you're at it email every publisher and developer and kindly ask them to delete every unlock system in any game they're currently making and don't bother supporting it afterwards because some people might not buy it and then they're missing out on something they didn't want.

Battlefield 4 should be free, we already bought Battlefield 3, every game should be free, we already bought one game, why do we have to pay for other stuff?

Every weapon in TF2 is obtainable by every player.
What are you doing? Every weapon in TF2 is obtainable by every player.
I don't have them from the start so they're not available to me while other people have them so that's obviously unfair.
Good job it's not a necessity then, isn't it?
Think about when people have 9 out of 35 maps in the game. Most servers are going to be running with the new maps only. There'll be a few vanilla servers, yeah, but maybe they'll have 10 people on them max. They are going to have to buy the DLCs in order to get the most out of their game and get the full experience. That's not right. It's not like you have to pay for them to get them to even unlock for you to have the chance to obtain.

That's not right.
Again with the bullshit servers excuse. There will be vanilla servers, and plenty of them, because I'm sure there's plenty of people who don't want to pay more for extra content. At the end of the day you bought exactly what was advertised, which was 9 maps, and the vanilla guns. Just because you own the base game doesn't give you any right to demand extra content be free. Plenty of people ENJOY the game, and those people shouldn't have a problem with giving DICE a few extra bucks for more content for the game they enjoy.
Yeah it is, they didn't want to buy the stuff that extends the game, their fault, don't blame the developers for the fact that players might only want to play the new stuff.
Oh my god are you really this dense? Maybe some people don't have the money to keep buying new content? And then when they can't play the game because of the new content then the $60 they spent for Battlefield 3 has gone to waste. How about those who are new and want to play Battlefield 3 after the fact that over half of the maps are not accessible unless you pay for them. They spend $60, can't play it because they keep getting kicked, and then have to spend $50 on premium or $15 for each pack. They end up spending over $100. BF has become a cash cow due to EA.
Also about Aftermath, civilian vehicles in BF3? I am buying this. [editline]27th July 2012[/editline]
Oh my god are you really this dense? If they want to get more stuff, they buy it. Stop acting like an entitled jackass. You bought the game, you got enough content. You want more stuff? Pay, shit isn't free.

Hell, they don't even see the money obtained from releasing the game they created. The publishers get all that, and they give the developers a paycheck. So, it's the publishers (EA) being cash whores and milking BF3, not DICE. I don't expect DICE to work for free but I dislike that EA is doing this paid DLC crap for money. They get enough money as it is now with all the games they publish, Origin, etc. They could get along just fine if BF3 had free content.

Then why do you all complain when CoD does the exact same thing?
Except they release only maps and most of them are rehashed from SP or previous games. Thanks for the pointless dumb btw.
Except they release only maps and most of them are rehashed from SP or previous games. Thanks for the pointless dumb btw.
That's exactly what BF3 is doing? They're just releasing maps with like, 3 weapons, and vehicles that are bound and locked to that map alone. Still basically a map pack and a new mode (which CoD has done a new mode before). And it's not pointless. I think your post is dumb, and that's the reason why. Besides all you ever do is lurk threads to rate dumb or agree why are you complaining?
Umm no. Both B2K and CQ have 10 weapons each and new gamemodes thats still better than CoD. Not to mention CoD maps look like shit. And no I don't.
Then why do you all complain when CoD does the exact same thing?
$45 for Call of Duty Elite. You only get 3 map packs and a shitty stats site, fuck all all else. $50 for Battlefield 3 Premium. You get 4 expansion packs, which give you extra weapons, maps, vehicles, and other shit. You also get a few perks such as a different knife skin, double XP events, strategy guides and (currently no details, except confirmation) other "bonus content". The reason people complain is because CoD overprices shit.

I'm not going to lie, I don't know much about the Elite stuff, but I don't complain about it either. But it's obvious why people complain, the content to price ratio is way shittier for Call of Duty than BF3, and that was my point.
I'm not going to lie, I don't know much about the Elite stuff, but I don't complain about it either. And seeing the "Collections" on PC since they didn't do Elite for PC, that's basically the content. Collection 1: - 4 new MP Maps - 2 new Spec Ops Missions Collection 2: - New Game Mode - 4 Maps with new game mode - 3 new MP maps - 2 new Spec Ops Missions. And the new collection will be $15 too, which will come to a total of Elite's price of $45. Doesn't really sound much different than what BF3 is doing.
Ok so you hate Expansion packs. Well, I guess you prefer the game studio to go bankrupt for not extending the lifespan of their videogames through expansion packs. They need money too. Premium will give you the maps for free so you don't have to buy again
Yeah it will, for free. And you'll get so much other great stuff too for free.

That's 20 maps assuming they continue the trend of 4 per pack. Also, new game types and at least 20 new weapons.
Weapons should be free too. There should not be guns only available to some and not to others. That's bullshit.
this 100% if call of duty tried this the majority of you hypocrite fucks would instantly lament about how horrible it is of them to do something so egregious
There's also the point that CoD maps have basically zero effort put into them compared to BF3 ones. CoD maps rehash resources constantly for theirs or just port in old maps for new map packs. I'd say just the Back to Karkand maps took more effort than all of MW3's dlc maps so far.

I know they didn't have to design the B2K maps, but they are completely redone on Frostbite. Also, many people got them for free by getting the game at release.

They didn't take the same maps and just port them over. (which is what CoD does) I can't believe there's people still saying that. Like they're too dumb to tell the difference between graphics from 2005 and 2011.
It's definitely gonna be a horde mode style. I mean "Aftermath" makes it sound like that. Also, ITT, DLC wars
No SP DLC? Ah oh well.
