Battlefield 3: Aftermath DLC includes four maps, one new mode

Who plays Battlefield for the single player?
Heavily modified civilian vehicles? I'm guessing a slightly rusted Toyota Hilux with a DShK mounted on the back, or better yet a ZU-23-2. The Shaggin Wagon.
The thought of a technical with a DShK in BF3 quite frankly scares the shit out of me

i do
"call of duty just reuses old maps in their dlc! battlefield would never do that! just look at the karkand maps they took straight out of battlefield 2!"
either way nobody gets an advantage by buying call of duty's dlc
Sorry, have you looked at the B2K maps? They are nothing like the BF2 maps, when I first played them, it was pretty jarring, things are in different locations, certain parts of the map don't exist any more, or never existed before. They are remakes inspired by the BF2 versions, not carbon copies.
And the advantages from the BF3 expansions are marginal, there are enough weapons in the stock game for you to find something that you excel with, the expansion weapons are all quite balanced when DICE get around to fixing them up (the CQ AUG A3 needs some form of recoil still mind, holy shit it's like a laser rifle). The weapons are more sidegrades, they all perform differently, but none excel in all areas at once.

I'm really happy with how the weapons were done in Battlefield 3 - it's all about your personal preference.
That's exactly what BF3 is doing? They're just releasing maps with like, 3 weapons, and vehicles that are bound and locked to that map alone. Still basically a map pack and a new mode (which CoD has done a new mode before).
And it's not pointless. I think your post is dumb, and that's the reason why. Besides all you ever do is lurk threads to rate dumb or agree why are you complaining?
But CoD mappacks doesn't have new guns or vehicles, just more of the same map!

yes, its so terrible that CoD doesn't include reskinned guns in their dlc.

actually CoD released a new mode for free.
This is awesome and totally something I would pay for.
Too bad I never bought BF3 cause it was never on Steam and Origin was shit.

That's a shame.
You're missing out on a great game because of brand loyalty.

True.
Just bought it this second. Installing Origin now.
But CoD mappacks doesn't have new guns or vehicles, just more of the same map!
Because CoD doesn't have drivable vehicles, for one.
Second, I'm glad they don't add guns you have to pay for to get that'd be annoying.

How is that annoying? You pay, you get more shit to play around with. You don't, you stick to the vanilla stuff you already pay for. It's not like the DLC weapons are better in any way.

Please don't sit on ridges 1000m away from the combat sniping. We have enough people doing that as is :(
the B2K expansion is pretty great though, buy that. Armoured Kill looks cool, but we'll see how that goes in a few months.

You know you can, like, pick the guns up from the guy using it right? You aren't 100% locked out of using the weapon. Just from sticking it in your loadout and unlocking stuff for that weapon.
I seem to be having problems with Origin already...
It appears in my purchases, I have been charged for it... but the games are not on 'My Games' list in my newly downloaded Origin?

You need to wait for your transaction to be authorised by EA, then they'll send you an e-mail confirming everything's okay.

Oh okay, I used Paypal.
Does it take long?
Oh okay, I used Paypal.

Shouldn't take too long, I'd say 30 minutes maximum.
Ok so you hate Expansion packs. Well, I guess you prefer the game studio to go bankrupt for not extending the lifespan of their videogames through expansion packs. They need money too.
Premium will give you the maps for free so you don't have to buy again
EA does not need any more money at all. They have bought out a good chunk of the game industry and are responsible for a lot of games not being as good as they could be.
wonder how long it'll be before they make the expansions free
oh wait they most likely won't do that anymore :(
EA does not need any more money at all. They have bought out a good chunk of the game industry and are responsible for a lot of games not being as good as they could be.
There's no such thing as "does not need any more money". If someone is putting work into something, they deserve money for it, just because someone has a bunch of money doesn't mean they should just start doing everything for free.

you must have been living under a rock the past few months
ea needs all the money they can get

Oh, please.

Come on what a stupid thing to say, there is a point where you defend a game for valid things then there's just grasping as stuff to find something to defend. To say "your not locked out of using a weapon, you can pick it up from dead guys the random chance you find it out of all the weapons people will be using and use it for 5 minutes!!" is incredibly dumb. I'm not on any side here complaining about the expansion packs (even though I don't like BF3) but that's still a dumb thing to say.
This is how you do DLC, Call of Duty
nope. this is how you do DLC:

Still pretty valid though. The arguments he is making are making it out to be that you can never use these weapons unless you pay. When the reality is, you can, but good luck actually using it for an entire match. BF3 isn't some Pay2Win game, if it's in the game, you can usually use it (outside of maps) without buying it. You just need to actually find whatever it is first.

Third one is pretty much the same as BF3's DLC. Eight new maps, seven new weapons, sixteen new vehicles for $30, double the price of BF3's DLC.
I wish people would stop jumping on the Anti EA bandwagon.

Well yeah your right "well you can use it" but out of all the weapons in BF3 you, by chance have to find someone using that weapon then follow them around until they die. Maybe if the game was more slow paced like ArmA or RO it wouldn't be a problem (and would I say a positive to the game) but with the fast paced action good luck.
But if the argument is you'll "never" be able to use it then your right though, I wish I enjoyed the vanilla game though as these expansions look cool (and much better then vanilla)

eh, different people have their different reasons, not saying all of it is justifiable but yeah
Pissed off as fuck with Origin.
It's being a fucking bullshit piece of shit. My order's been completed and everything and my £39.99 game still isn't showing up.
Using support, but I'm guessing it's going to be a pile of shit so I'll just drop them a ticket and hope they sort it out quickly even though it'll probably still take days to fix.
Cunts.

Oh it's livechat, might be okay.
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
Oh LOL!
It appears I bought Premium expecting it to contain Battlefield 3 as well, but it doesn't!
Now I have to fucking buy that..
[editline]29th July 2012[/editline]
Gay as fuck.. basically forced into spending £80 FUCKING POUNDS due to a misleading bullshit website.
Origin can choke on a bag of dicks. I'm never using it to buy anything again, this would never have happened on Steam.
