Fans angry over 'missing' iPhone 7 headphone socket

Wouldn't it make sense to do this in order to make room for better hardware? I don't understand the outcry, I really don't. Every time someone tries something new it's not good enough, but when they don't, it still ain't good enough.

..better hardware.. what..
Maybe stop supporting Apple products then.

I don't see how that's hard to grasp. The fact that theres no 3,5mm jack is obviously going make room for other stuff in the phone, bigger battery, more space, maybe something entirely new. I have no idea what, but you'd be stupid to believe it doesn't have a purpose.
In 1998 it released the iMac G3 without a floppy disk, leaving many questioning the wisdom of the move.
But, just more than a decade later, Sony - a pioneer of the floppy disk - announced it was killing off the storage device.
It phrases this like it was a good thing, to phase out a standard ten years before it was actually gone. I mean, sure, floppies were dead way before 2011 where they officially died, but they were most certainly not dead in 1998.
This has been a big rumor for a while. They're ditching headphone sockets to sell Bluetooth headphones.
This is like, half the reason why they bought Beats. I don't own a pair myself (I don't like overpriced, shitty headphones), they are Bluetooth, right?
I thought they bought Beats because they could use the streaming service as a back end for Apple Music. Probably also because Beats are marked up so high they would make the money back easily.

One similar decision they made that was good was the decision to exclude flash from their mobile browser
Using flash on an android phone sucked ass anyway

It has the purpose of making Apple more money.

they just use it to make the device thinner.

wireless headphones are objectively inferior to wired ones.

that is to say, removing the 3.5mm port is a downgrade no matter how apple paints it.

they must have some shitty hardware designers if they can't fit better hardware in their phone with a 3.5mm jack
So the phone only has one port if thats true? Good luck watching something and charging your phone. They probably have an adapter for it which you need to carry around and costs you $75. Then you have to buy 2nd adapter to use old 3.5mm jack which probably also doesn't include a charging port.
More proprietary stuff that doesn't have any major benefits.

Well they already have that tiny screen and huge empty place on top and bottom of the phone

Apple don't add better hardware, they want it to be thinner because market analysis shows that people want thinner devices. So they will keep thinning their devices out as best as they can.
Also, battery has never been a selling point for Apple. Usually Apple speaks about their new processor and how it is magically better than its opponent and how they've enhanced the camera for their and of course, how thin its gotten. For their iPhones.

It's actually funny how Apple advertise their phones sometimes. When the 6S came out, what was the big selling point? Better processor! What was the actual most notable upgrade that went unnoticed until tinkerers got into debug shit or whatever? Switching the manager for the memory over to NVMe so it could read and write data significantly faster than any other phone or tablet on the market, providing an overall much smoother experience.

Because they have to appeal to a broad mainstream market, if they can say it's faster, smaller and has a better camera for your selfies and panorama pictures. They appeal to these aspects, because normal people can realize that this is a good step forward. If you told them about this fancy new technology they used to make it even more faster. None would honestly care as much.
Well, unless you're actually interested in technology.
I use bt earphones(?). Aux I only ever use for my car. So I'd be okay with it being completely removed instead of replaced with something else.
