• Watch Dogs PC system requirements detailed, to the horror of 32 bit OS users

My 550 Ti and 4GB DDR2 RAM are crying right now.
Minimum 5770? Damn.
What?! The ultra settings require an 8-core CPU? I'll be genuinely shocked if they have it optimized for a quadcore, let alone an octacore. Highly sceptical of this all. My graphicscard surpass the performance of a single 7970, and my quadcore has four cores, all running at 4,5Ghz. I'll let you know how it runs if we get to a WatchDogs thread.
I didn't realize people still ran 32bit operating systems
Hoping that my 580 will be enough. I'm playing @1680x1050 anyway. Maybe it's time to do my 2500k a little overclocking..
i7 3770 Quad 3.90GHz, 16GB RAM and Radeon 7950 w/ 3GB. I think I'll be fine!
Wow, I just upgraded to an eight core and 8GB of RAM a couple of weeks ago. Talk about good timing.
Battlefield 4 is 64-bit as well I believe. The beta is at least. [editline]3rd October 2013[/editline]
I didn't realize people still ran 32bit operating systems
Some people even use still XP, it's awful. And let's not talk about the 64-bit version of XP.
Someone's probably gonna hack/patch it to work on 32-bit systems, but lets be honest, the game neesd 8GB of RAM, Windows 32-bit supports up to only 4GB, why bother
It's not really simple to just "hack and patch" to a different architecture. Not going to happen unless the devs make it possible.
Sorry but if recommended really needs a hex core and 8gb of memory then I'm sorry but where the fuck did all the optimisations go which that should be cross platform and transition to the consoles? I'm going to wait for the official specs before really judging but this is kinda poor. Those specs which were on uPlay could have been placeholders for all we know.
Battlefield 4 is 64-bit as well I believe. The beta is at least.
Yeah only the beta, I think the full game will support both 32 and 64 bit.
Gah fuck, don't reach all the minimums.
Weee, looks like i will be able to play this atleast on the minimum.
I don't know, I've had minimum requirements bite me in the ass before, my computer gets to and goes above all the minimum for Saints Row 4 yet with everything on low the game runs like total shit. So it's minimum requirements to run the game, not exactly play it.
The 8 core recommended requirement is 90% bullshit, you will be fine with a intel quad-core.
i think 8 core just refers to hyperthreading In which case I am all set for my DEDSEC Edition preorder
Suddenly my 5870 with 1GB VRAM feels inadequate. :(
That's the second game which requires DX11 and doesn't have DX10, first was Crysis 3. And since my GF 9600 GT doesn't support DX11.. I'm seriously worried about the need of upgrade.

CryTek have always been pushing ahead though so I wasn't surprised when that happened to Crysis 3.
i fall between minimum and recommended specs
-snip automerge break-
Woo, just slightly above ultra. Nice.
Think a GT 650M would be able to run it on low? I'm using a Lenovo Ideapad Y500, my computer at home is slightly stronger, but I'm in uni... I think I should be able to, if I am willing to cook anything by my output fan, but not 100% sure.

This is why my next GPU is Radeon.
Ow. Windowed & minimum settings then until I upgrade.

Did everyone have 20 year old printers that wouldn't work when it came out or something?
Why would anyone still use a 32-bit OS is beyond me.
Because a lot of people don't see reason to utilize more than 4 gigs of ram? Not everyone is a gamer you know.
Because a lot of people don't see reason to utilize more than 4 gigs of ram? Not everyone is a gamer you know.
64bit architecture gives you a heck of alot more advantages than just in gaming.
64bit architecture gives you a heck of alot more advantages than just in gaming.
like what? im not all that knowledgable with this stuff. dont programs have to be specifically programmed to make use of more than 4gb of ram?
FYI the 64 bit version of XP was actually really good. No idea why it got so much stick. Did everyone have 20 year old printers that wouldn't work when it came out or something?
I think it depends on which 64-Bit XP you had. The x64 version was perfectly fine if your devices had drivers (at launch very few did, seeing as 64-bit consumer OS wasn't the norm in any way shape or form, and launch basically makes or breaks user opinion), the other 64-Bit version was just awful and confused people because it wasn't even targeted at x86-64 but was pushed like it would work on anything.
Now my AMD 8 Core purchase will be worth it.
like what? im not all that knowledgable with this stuff. dont programs have to be specifically programmed to make use of more than 4gb of ram?
No, as long as a program is compiled for x64, the OS will be able to allocate the memory it needs without the programmer having to worry too much. Most of the improvements just come from it actually taking advantage of the CPU properly along with the massive RAM amounts.
