Holy hell, games that actually suggest i7's? [editline]3rd October 2013[/editline] This game better look fucking gorgeous.
So uh, GTX 680, i7 3770k, 8 GB of RAM. I guess I'll turn off AA and everything will be dandy? The required specs for this game are considerably high. It reminds me of my 12-year-old self's jaw dropping when I saw Crysis' requirements back when it was announced :v:

I'm anticipating that I'll be able to max it out minus MSAA at 40-60 FPS. TXAA or SMAA if available will do the trick without the huge performance hit.
Looks like my GTX 570/2500K is going to start being seriously stressed, I could run most games at max but it doesn't even better the recommended specs. Also, I find it really funny that they recommend a octo-core CPU, but then list 2 Intel CPUs that only have 4/6 cores. I somewhat doubt the engine is written in such a way to actually use 8 cores (or benefit from Hyper Threading, that actually slows stuff down in the common case), but it'd be interesting to find out more information on it.
8 core amd= 4 cores split in 2
It will put my 650 Ti and my i7 950 to the test, i guess.
welp totally called my rig fading into irrelevance on the dawn of next gen
If going beyond x86 is too much for your setup then I'm kinda glad it did
Meh, I'll max this shit with my crossfire 3870HD's and Q6600.
This seems extremely abrupt for specs to jump this high. Maybe i've been ignoring progression with pc specs (I perfectly fit all the minimum requirements) but i've been able to run most games fine. It'd honestly be cheaper to buy a PS4 and the game than to upgrade my rig to the recommended specs. Then again i'm gonna chock it up to shitty port/coding rather than ~~graphics of the future~~
New console generation is the reason for the jump.
LOL an fx9370??? Are they blatantly trying to advertise for AMD? If you have an 8150 or an 8350... just oc. I had my 8150 getting 9,950 on Passmark at 4.67ghz and I have my current 8350 getting 10,500 at 4.5ghz. The 9370 says its gets 9,721 according to cpubenchmark.com ... so ... even a well oc'd 8150 will do better... You might even be able to use a 8120/8320 to run ultra with a good oc.
If going beyond x86 is too much for your setup then I'm kinda glad it did
The new consoles are switching TO x86, why would he switch away from it?
Holy hell, games that actually suggest i7's? [editline]3rd October 2013[/editline] This game better look fucking gorgeous.
And it does, some of the trailers make it look amazing.
The new consoles are switching TO x86, why would he switch away from it?
by x86 I assume he means 32 bit, as opposed to x64
I completely forgot that I had 8gb of RAM and not 4.
Minimum DX11 GPU, are you fucking kidding me? Well, glad I didn't pre-order. Wouldn't a 295 GTX be capable of running this? Surely it supports DX10...
Welp time to upgrade my CPU and RAM.

Oh cool, I'm almost set for ultra.
Honestly 32 bit is a dying OS, it's time everyone from 2013 who has not have a monster computer up with a quad core, 8 GB of ram and better specs of today need to get one or suffer the horrors of lag and low spec settings in the future, you wish you could spend 1.3K again to get a better computer that last you 4 years (or more).
Shit, I feel like I'm from the stone age with my dual core and 2 gb Ram.
Minimum DX11 GPU, are you fucking kidding me? Well, glad I didn't pre-order. Wouldn't a 295 GTX be capable of running this? Surely it supports DX10...
DX 11 came out in 2008 with Windows 7. AS IN FIVE YEARS AGO. Look, here's a shiny new GPU with DX 11.1 support for just $250 and it should run the game fairly well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130933 So work on finding a job if you don't have one and start saving up money for an upgrade.
A list of PC specs for Watch Dogs 'leaked' online yesterday, showing the minimum and recommended hardware required to play Watch Dogs on your PC. According to one of the Watch Dogs developers, Sebastien Viar, these specs are incorrect. "These are not official configs," said Viar over on his Twitter page. "The real specs out soon and will be lower than [these] ones."
http://www.gameseek.co.uk/video-gaming-news/267/watch-dogs-developer-denies-yesterdays-pc-specs Well there you go. They're false.
What?! The ultra settings require an 8-core CPU? I'll be genuinely shocked if they have it optimized for a quadcore, let alone an octacore. Highly sceptical of this all. My graphicscard surpass the performance of a single 7970, and my quadcore has four cores, all running at 4,5Ghz. I'll let you know how it runs if we get to a WatchDogs thread.
Why am I rated stupid by 7 people here without anyone commenting on what I actually said? What made me an idiot please?
Why am I rated stupid by 7 people here without anyone commenting on what I actually said? What made me an idiot please?
That's Facepunch for ya. Don't take it to heart.
Looks like I'll be able to play this on ultra, though my CPU (i7 extreme or something) might be lacking :(
Just cause 2 was one of the first games that didn't allow Windows XP. It didn't have anything to do with 32 or 64 bit though.
Nah, was the first purely DX10 game, first game that didn't allow windows XP was Halo 2 for whatever reason :P

Also, telling someone that can't afford something "hurr get a job" is kind of useless if they're working in the final year of a full-time course at college. Thanks for the 'advice' though.
