APB Reloaded has 3 million registered players and a new update on the way

I've played enough of every release of APB. It's a game that just isn't going to get better. Especially NOT under G1, who honestly don't give a shit about you unless you pay. The game is lackluster and is missing content that would make it, well, for one, fair, and two, actually be some sort of gameplay instead of the same unbalanced missions over and over again.
Which sucks because the customization is probably the best I've seen in ages (Though, bodytype modification is kinda disappointing)

You see, there is a difference between saying GAME IS SHIT BECAUASE IS SHIT AND PAyTOWINLELEL and saying that patches are not good. I, personally, have learned to accept that the game will never shine as it deserves, but frankly it is in a slightly decent state right now. Remember how RTW lasted 6 weeks while this release has been running for 2 years now?
Do you see me praising the G1 overlord because they are the best company ever?

this game has a LOT of things that i'd like to see in more games in the future. it's modern, it's got insane customization, and the core gameplay is fun. it's just unfortunate how greatly unbalanced it is and that G1 will never release things like Asylum.

Asylum, at least a preview, has been released, balance is being worked upon to a certain extent. One might argue the last patch didn't do much good but certainly it did NOT harm the game
Here is a great idea, fix bugs that have been in the game sense RTW's time. Actually have a backbone ban hackers, and keep them ban. Don't unban because they bullied you and cried to the BBB. Release some major patch with good shit to do.
Where is Asylum, Racing, and Chaos districts? We need a big update to keep this game going, not stupid little patches that take a year to push out.
I quit APB because I got tired of the bullshit hackers and them coming back when proof of a lot of the ones I played against got shit against them but oh look. BBB, GAMERSFIRST ISNT LETTING ME PLAY BECAUSE I BROKE A LITTLE RULE. ITS NOT FAIR HHMPH.

It harmed performance that's for damn sure. APB hasn't stuttered for me since I was on my old computer with 4GB of RAM, now that I have more than enough, it hasn't stuttered, until I updated that is, now it's jumpy as fuck and the connection is even worse than it used to be as well, and it used to be pretty bad anyway.
My little cousin has been addicted to this game for the past few months. He has over 1000 hours and has spent over $150 on gun attachments and guns that don't even last forever.

OMG BOXFORT LOL
4gb is an exageration, but it tends to get to 2.5GB quite fast
It uses about 1GB at the fucking menu though, 4GB might be an exregation but I remember seeing it around atleast 3GB

What really gets me going is, they hardly enforce their own EULA. I think is a company fails to enforce that EULA that they make people agree to any player should be entitled to a refund.
I Would totally do it.

Yeah, I love that specific box. I seriously think that post looks like that copypasta.
On topic though, I hope this update will be ACTUALLY worth something, as in less memory usage, the game is even more unplayable for me, I get two times as much stuttering as before, and that says something when you can't actually drive through a single corner without hitting the walls three times.
APB was pretty good at its inception (Except the matchmaking was pretty shitty), but when it was moved over to G1, they didn't honor people who had pre-ordered (They claimed that there was no way to confirm it: say that to my steam account and receipt)
G1 has fixed it up a little, but it still has a ton of issues (It made me rage so hard I broke a mouse and motherboard): but the game still has potential if played with friends (Especially when playing cops with LTL)
I remember loving this game when it came out in open beta.
So i'm guessing from the posts in this thread, it isn't worth playing?

Its funny because cheat sites like AA call them HackersFirst, they do ban cheaters every so often but its a free game and they are doing literally nothing to stop them coming back or prevent them cheating in the first place. When someone gets banned it takes them 5 minutes to create a new account and start rage hacking for two weeks before they are banned again.

Some stuff has changed since OB. Performance for one hasn't got that much better (altough I never had issues= and gun balanced has been completely transformed

They completely fucked guns. They're almost all useless now, it is sad really. Then guns were fine really, a few needed tweaks, but they totally ruined the mechanics.
The three million registered players are from when it released on Steam and everyone was trying it out (and quitting promptly afterwards).
Player concurrency at the moment is not higher than 30 thousand on all servers combined on peaks of activity such as "major updates".
The devs are doing an absolutely dreadful job at fixing anything or adding any new content. Yes, there were a couple of content patches, but those came several months later than they were promised, and there's still things that were promised to come "soon" back in 2011 that are still supposedly being worked on.
The game's mechanics are terribly flawed from the core, third person camera grants massive advantages to one side of an engagement, makes close combat extra awkward, slow time to kill, fast regeneration and infinite, omnidirectional (you can do it backwards) and completely interruptible sprinting, urban maps and attack-defense based missions (which make up 97% of any combat you'll be in) make close combat the absolute most common scenario. If you don't get a team to play with (which makes the game sort of bearable), you'll be tossed in uninterruptible 1v1s or similar which are the definition of bullshit, since combat is extremely predictable and one sided. 1v2s where the single guy gets 20 kills and 1 death (with that death also often causing a defeat in the mission, completely ruining rewards) are more than routine.
It's got one of the most terrible communities I've ever seen in an online game (it makes World of Tanks look deserving of the title it was awarded back in 2011), and you might as well rename the game to "Russian Federation", with the official language being Russian Swearwords.
The cash shop pricing is an absolute rip off, people were complaining about Planetside 2's guns being overpriced at 7 dollars for the most expensive ones, while here you can barely get a gun for 7 bucks for 30 days. Permanent guns' prices are even worse, buyable cosmetics' are very limited, low in quality and overpriced, aside from the only noteworthy packages coming around in "limited editions" and being like 20-30 bucks. Worst part is, people actually buy all these, there's plenty of people that own Mk3 "Tommyguns" which are awarded for spending 150 dollars worth of credits in the cash shop, and I've seen people complaining about having "trouble navigating their inventory due to all of the permanent guns I own".
The only thing it has going for it right now is it's addictiveness and what's left of the customization, everything else is objectively shit. Game is completely pointless if you don't do missions, and missions are about as bad as having your race destroyed in a genocide. The only reason it's any successful is because there's no other game quite like it, though it could be extremely successful if the devs hadn't shit massively on the game during development. And maybe if an actually good publisher would have bought it.

Oh god I remember making an account and it took several tries to actually get a match because hardcorefags kept kicking me because my rank was "trainee."
And in general people take it way too fucking seriously. I had a guy just let fucking loose because he died then I died shortly after and we lost and started blaming me even though I did better than him statistically.
Plus people just call in friends to get them to park on the objective, making it impossible for the other team to even try to win.
