• Diablo 3 on console is slightly better than the PC version. Can we have the changes on our version p

I don't get why people complain so much about PoE's gameplay. The only difference I ever really noticed between D3 and PoE in feel was that D3 had ragdoll physics and more blood. PoE doesn't have as good death sounds as D1/D2 which contribute to making gameplay a little less enjoyable but D3 was in the same boat when it comes to sounds.
This argument is broken out every single time by someone that thinks they are clever. It isn't clever, because the console release didn't change the PC release. D3 changed fundamentally in late Beta, like the interface being obviously tweaked for a controller.
I played Diablo 1 on PSX using my PSP. It was pretty difficult to control, and you had to go through a ton of paused menus to access the inventory. That being said, it was still a blast to have a portable version on my PSP. As for Torchlight 2, well, I haven't played it myself, but the music is still very much Diablo in atmosphere
PoE artstyle is very similar to D2, nothing bland or sterile about that. TII being "cartoony" is the only thing people can ever say bad about it, it's not actually childish at all but why would you expect people that pass a judgement that "observant" to actually try playing seriously. Super Mario huh? Didn't know Mario had cultists with tentacles for faces and people that explode into clouds of blood. It's not even a valid criticism it's just stupid to even say. Not to mention both games actually feel way more smooth in control than D3, have far more interesting classes, abilities, and items, and actually neat item types and effects.
Neither Diablo 2 nor Path of Exile were as atmospheric as the first Diablo, but I'd say PoE is even worse. Everything is just sort of there. And wasn't criticizing TL2 for being childish and cartoony, I was criticizing for being "stylized" in the most generic way possible. And PoE feels way more smooth than Diablo 3? What in god's name are you smoking? If there's only thing Diablo 3 did right, it's smooth, good feeling combat. All this thread has done is successfully made me dig up my Diablo 1 and Hellfire expansion CDs.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at
Since I'm already making unpopular opinions on ARPGs, I'm also going to go ahead and say that Darkspore was the most innovative game in the genre since Diablo 2. You didn't have many skills, but the myriad of ways they could syngergize with each other was amazing, and so was the way almost every enemy needed it's own unique tactical consideration.

The synergies were neat, you really had to think sometimes. A lot of character in that one.
Man, Diablo 1 really feels more like a survival horror game then an RPG with the music and the sound effects. A lot of stuff in this game is really gruesome even by today's standards.

The art style also gave me a Metroid Prime vibe.
Why would you buy this twice when you could get 20 copies of torchlight 2 instead.
Because Torchlight 2 is super boring compared to Diablo 3.

The auction houses were terrible additions and the playerbase begged and pleaded for Blizzard to remove them from the moment they were announced, to no avail. Blizzard had the little dollar sign eyes and was blinded by greed. Turns out the community was right all along, what a surprise. Then suddenly "Titan" gets delayed indefinitely. Make of that what you will.
Because Torchlight 2 is super boring compared to Diablo 3.
Gearchecks and combat that can be accurately simulated by scribbling numbers on two pieces of paper and smashing them together is fun? I thought TII's actually interesting world, enemy design, skills and items that actually do badass stuff, and massive combat variety was fun. But whatever, stick to your super edgy artstyle push 2 button until everything dies to get a stat stick then repeat ad nauseum I guess.

I find a 6 barreled gun with a proc chance to spawn nether spiders on kill far from dull. Definitely far less dull than repeating the same content over and over for hours grinding my head against a wall to get a staff that looks like everyone elses and who's only important stat is it's 1.1 extra DPS and 3% magic find to increase my chances of finding another meaningless stats stick. Also, it doesn't have to be the ARPG genre, it wasnt in D2, it was a bit in D1 but that is quite old and not very mechanically complex comparitively. It is in D3 because they made it WoW, ARPG edition. It's just an endless grind for gear with little reward for skilled play or ability usage. One ability or 20, it doesn't matter, they just get spammed out as ubiquitous damage numbers that could be replaced with anything else and have no real significance in what the abilities actually are.
You are failing to quantify "dull" in any respect.
Take everything you are complaining about Diablo 3 having an apply to Torchlight 2 with the added caveats of combat not feeling nearly as visceral and a flat, bland, tiring artstyle. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] I never got a gun that spawns nether spiders but I don't think that would have made Torchlight 2 any less boring. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline]
What? Both games are easily better than diablo 3. They made a mess of diablo and Path of Exile is one of the best examples of game design I've seen in a long time
Yeah I know what you mean I wish the skill gem/talent forest system from POE was put in a better designed ARPG.

I found TII to be pretty boring imo, the artstyle was an eyesore, everything felt like it blended together into a sea of dull colors. Diablo 2 and Path of Exile completely blow it out of the water.
Not to even mention that D2 and T2 great modding scenes that make the game for me. Guess what D3 doesn't have. Yeah. Super arrogant of Blizzard, a big fuck you to PC gamers and I see no reason to support business decisions like that.

(Eastern Sun was better).
I always thought Diablo 2 was an awesome game, didn't think much of the first one. Played the demo for the 3rd didn't feel the same so I didn't stay a while and listen
Because Torchlight 2 is super boring compared to Diablo 3.
It feels exactly like Diablo 2, but with upgraded graphics to me.
