I'm looking forward to see if the Rebels get more aliens than just Sullustans and Ishi Tibs. Don't get me wrong, I'm almost certainly gonna live my dream of having way too many cheeks and roll Sullustan, but it'd be baller as fuck if we got to be Wookiees or Rodians too.
Wookies are basically a given because of Chewbacca.
I don't get their decision to stick with the original trilogy. The pre-sequels were shit MOVIES but some of the elements within them are great, like the droids and stuff 'Fans don't like the prequel trilogy films so we best not include them' DOESN'T WORK HERE - Hell even Battlefront 2 is a great example, the way they included the elements from the films were great. Seems like poor decision making, or laziness.
How? How does it seem like either of those things at all? They very clearly said, several times, they really want to make the OT great. Their trailers have all have extreme detail to make it that way, their attention to the original art is nothing short of outstanding. But yeah no it's definitely because of 'laziness'
The problem is authenticity. They want it to look and feel like an OT movie. Watch back the video. Everything from the way Jetpacks move characters to how explosions and smoke effects look is based on the original trilogy. It's not just an OT setting. It's a complete OT experience with gameplay and the aesthetic all influenced by those films. They've gone through so much effort to recreate the look of 70s/80s practical effects. The other problem with crowbarring Clone Wars into this game is that everything was scanned. The locations were extensively photographed, as were the props and costumes. There is nothing from the Clone Wars to scan. It was all CG. It's a whole different ball game. Finally they've confirmed on social media that the game will only launch with 4 planets (with multiple maps for each planet). Then an additional planet as DLC. All 5 planets have nothing to do with the Clone Wars. I'd rather Clone Wars be it's own separate game than just tacking it on to the existing one.
Well besides the fact that every set you have in the Prequels where actually miniatures, they probably could.
Honestly I preferred clone war stuff over original in BF2. Maps were better too. Hopefully they'll make a Clone Wars expansion.
man i actually really liked the prequels i never really understood all the furious, frothing hate for them. the OT seems like really cool, well done, cheesy 80s movies and the prequels seemed fine as well. i dont know, maybe its because i watched the prequels first?
maybe its because i watched the prequels first?
That's why. I watched the OT first, but I grew up when the prequels were being released. I remember loving Episode 1 and 2 at first, but by the time 3 had come out I could see how they were much weaker films then Episodes 4-6.
Now, if they decided to make Star Wars Battlefront based on KOTOR series, it could make it a worthwhile game
There's a really good mod for battlefront 2 that also adds in some old republic era space and land battles and units. You should check it out.
i dont know, maybe its because i watched the prequels first?
Probably. I mean I don't hate the prequels but while both have flaws, the prequels in general have a lot more compared to the originals that combined make them a lot worse as movies
There's a really good mod for battlefront 2 that also adds in some old republic era space and land battles and units. You should check it out.
I wouldn't say very good. The maps are good and it's fully fleshed, but the texture and model quality are fairly meh.
I wouldn't say very good. The maps are good and it's fully fleshed, but the texture and model quality are fairly meh.
IMO the mod as a whole is great. Sure the model and texture quality isn't quite up to snuff of the rest of the game, but it's still very welcome.
Thinking about it they'll probably do Clone War DLC. Infact I'm sure it was already insinuated that they would. I know there's a bunch of Force Awakens content that will be DLC-only.

I just want my B1s. We need more games were you can play as Droids/C.I.S.
At this rate our hopes are more "I hope they didn't cut this" rather than "I wonder what they're going to add" [editline]20th April 2015[/editline] So far the game has been shaping up to be a disappointment.
Free DLC.
Given every other DLC for BF3/4 were paid I highly doubt it. None of that means it'll be a bad game.
Given every other DLC for BF3/4 were paid I highly doubt it.
It says free right in the OP.
It says free right in the OP.
I'm referring to any potential Clone Wars content.
The hell with the prequels, it doesn't matter what factions are in, as long as they actually follow through this time. I'm still bracing for this game to be inexplicably canceled again.

There was never an official announcement it was being made, we didn't even know it existed until the leaked footage came out. I bet if that footage never came out we would have never known about the game.
Eh, i rather enjoy the Original trilogy better than the Clone wars. Mostly since the clone wars was just mass produced armies just killing each other without either side having free will or thinking. But at least in the original trilogy, most of the people fighting actually are fighting for something instead of some order like a clone trooper.
