A car with faulty power steering is harder to drive than a car without it because of all the stuff on the steering rack making it harder to turn, it's only so you can drive it to a mechanics (I've heard that's why anyway). My first car didn't have power steering and it was very easy to drive, it was just parking which was a pain.
depends on the car.
Those with simple power-steering set-up are basically the same as models without power-steering when it's broken/disabled.
It's when it's power steering with all kinds of components to improve driving comfort (what car enthusiasts refer to as "neutering the driving experience") goes haywire they get fucking heavy to turn.
It's not like Nissan is forcing this on the market. If you want it, but a car with drive-by-wire. Car enthusiasts can always do their own thing.
