Fans have been asking for that for years, it's in the same boat as the FFVII remake. The most we'll ever get if we're lucky are PC ports with higher poly PS1-era models (which I would have no problem with by the way). I'm just glad I can finally play REmake on PC without having to dick around with an emulator. Despite some of the backgrounds being shop chopped (good GOD that Shark Tank area), It has definitely stood the test of time. For a 2002 game it still looks amazing.
well we got that Darkside Wii shooter maybe they could make it something like that. ( in terms of lookès not gamepaly.)
I'm sure HD remasters means more minimal effort stuff like RE4HD and this. Like if this remake from the GC hadn't existed, I doubt they would ever go back and do so now I'd expect RE0 to come out, and that's probably it
re2 is getting a sort of remake by a random dude with the assets from darkside chronicles in ue3 no less only problem is a: its a passion project and b: he can't release it because so much copywritten material is in it oh also capcom did some surveys recently indicating they are interesting in hd remasters and remakes of their past titles, so it wouldn't surprise me too much if they announced an official re2 remake
With some tweaks I'd play the shit out of that. I like how the author implemented the fixed camera angle.
Actually I remember interviews from the time the resident evil games where being released for the gamecube. Capcom was on a roll for doing those games, they had released both Zero and REmake at the time and they where considering doing it for RE2 as well. The reason they didn't was because they felt the game still looked good enough, and I agree. In this day and age though, they could probably do a remake that would look even better, maybe not much better, but a little hehe. To be fair to the reviewer though, we have all made jokes that some of the STARS members should invest in a bag, and the camera angles can be disorienting at first(assuming that you're new and not lying about being a fan of the series lol), but both of those things work to great effect. Much like the save system also does, but normandie didn't specify what he thought was wrong with it. It's not bad game design in any case though.

RE1 got the REmake because it desperately needed one. RE1 didn't hold up as well compared to all the other games at the time. RE2 still looks pretty damn good, thanks to prerendered graphics! I'd be happy with an update with new/updated models though. The full treatment is obviously what everyone wants, but I don't think Capcom is cool enough to do it.

Though honestly, I'd just be happy to hear a RE2 remake is being developed at this point.
