I wonder if it'll be more game-like. Arma's stiffness it the biggest flaw for me, and surely for a lot of people. You can get used to it, but it would be honestly twice as good if it was more friendly to play.
The worst part is when you get chased by a zombie and before you can stop your character and turn around to get an accurate shot off it's already in your face trying to kill you. Combat is also really clunky unless you're used to it.

Well the combat and game engine was based around ranged combat with enemies that shoot at you from a long distance, or at least down the street - for the realistic, tactical means or whatever. Not sprinting, glitchy zombies that maul you unavoidably the moment you get within five feet of them with no limit to their running, much less any sort of proper melee compatibility at all.
Considering ArmA was never designed for melee combat and thus the attacks of zombies and the melee weapons were practically hacked in, I expect that this will turn out a lot better. In other words, here's hoping for no more zombies hitting you from a good five metres away.

This. Animations are all very slow too. I understand that it's a simulator and not an arcade game but I doubt that a real soldier needs several seconds to change his weapon, pick something up or to throw something.

It takes like a second, or just over to switch weapons.

You need like a second to pick up something from the ground.
