Shacknews in a nutshell: How do I video game???
Shacknews in a nutshell: How do I video game???
Would you prefer RPS with their twisted title word play.
Would you prefer RPS with their twisted title word play.
Well yeah, that provides amusement to the reader.
Fixed, most of those people never even made it to CSS.
They had valid complaints. CSS changed the way pretty much everything worked.
Every server has that russian that always says; "I FUK U MOM!"
I almost feel like this game can't really be reviewed. It's new counterstrike. If you like counterstrike, buy it. If you don't, don't.
Honestly, I didn't like CS much until I started playing this. It feels so much more complete and polished than CSS.
i've read like maybe one or two shacknews articles i read pretty much every rps thread that came through, they were mostly very well written and more insightful than most other reviewers / previewers
Fixed, most of those people never even made it to CSS.
I play CS 1.6 and they're pretty nice people. It's a dead stereotype honestly. The most elitism I've seen in Counter Strike in general comes from clans, and that's across the board.
This is the worst fucking review I have ever seen. It's like they don't understand anything about counter strike.
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/08/23/csgo-review/ There. So much better.
To be honest I would have paid $50 for this if Valve had priced it like they usually price their new releases. It's certainly better than the rest of the "modern shooters." It's actually balanced.
this OP, it reeks of bigotry!
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/08/23/csgo-review/ There. So much better.
Entertaining? Check. Relatively fair? Check. Relevant to me? Check. And most importantly, a review with an understanding of the series beforehand. Check.
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/08/23/csgo-review/ There. So much better.
I don't think consoles were the reason for this, and the new wheel is godly for people like me that never bothered to learn the key combinations for different weapons. It's much faster overall, in my opinion.
Kinda funny that FP defends this, while ripping on CoD for not innovating or adding anything new. Oh wait this is made by Valve no wonder.
Kinda funny that FP defends this, while ripping on CoD for not innovating or adding anything new. Oh wait this is made by Valve no wonder.
Oh wait it's fucking $15 no wonder.
Kinda funny that FP defends this, while ripping on CoD for not innovating or adding anything new. Hell, even the price tag suggests that
Kinda funny that FP defends this, while ripping on CoD for not innovating or adding anything new. Oh wait this is made by Valve no wonder.
This is CS, the community so fucking conservative that a slight change in movement or recoil invokes outrage among the entire playerbase plus it's only $15 for all these totally original things like maps and models
Good old RPS and their PC elitism.
I don't even know if that's elitism, 30FPS is extremely low for a game like Counter-Strike, especially if it actually has controller issues, even if it is a console, I'd think they could crank more out of the Source engine considering Call of Duty which is shit runs much higher thanks to it's extremely outdated idTech engine.
Kinda funny that FP defends this, while ripping on CoD for not innovating or adding anything new. Oh wait this is made by Valve no wonder.
The difference is that every new CoD costs $60 and it's the same thing each time, whereas CS:GO is $15. Another thing is that all recent CoD games have essentially had the same graphics and don't make any attempt to improve on them. Each CS game has always had improved graphics with each release. CS:GO isn't a remake of content, it's more of a remastering.
Every new CoD adds new weapons, perks, killstreaks, attachements, game modes (nazi zombies, spec ops, the new spec ops), a single player campaign and sometimes a new setting (also a lot of new models and maps). If this is perfectly fine at 15$, I hardly see how it is outrageous to ask 60$ for a new CoD.
Kinda funny that FP defends this, while ripping on CoD for not innovating or adding anything new. Oh wait this is made by Valve no wonder.
It's the cost of one call of duty map pack, when it adds not only new/redesigned maps, but also game modes, weapons, and balance tweaks all on a newer version of Source. Oh, and the last counter strike game was released in 2004; when was the last call of duty released? So yes, call of duty is an uninnovative and milked franchise that needs to die in its current state; CS:GO isn't.

And there's modding support, there's already Jailbreak servers and there are official zombie models too 2) Maps were renewed from what I've seen, and there are some new character models to play with 3) There are 2 new grenades and new weapons, along with all the old ones beign rebalanced. It's still an AK/M4 shitfest, but other weapons have been made viable 4) How can you even DARE to mention "new" stuff after you've seen what happened from MW2 to MW3 CS:GO does provide little new content compared to the old games. but it does that at a quite reasonable price, compared to a few new lines of code in a new CoD game that cost 60€
Except CoD games are released annually, $60 every year. Whereas this is the first Counter-Strike I've paid for as 1.6 came with my HL serial and CSS came with my retail HL2. $15. Once. CS also has much better mod support than CoD and is also still supported by the developer, Valve/HPE are still updating CSS even though CS:GO is out - that kind of support doesn't really happen with CoD.

You mean those everyone rages at when they are in CoD because it's lazy? That it was released so long ago doesn't make it better, took that long for so little. CoD added Spec ops and whatnot, quite a bit more than a gungame (and a gungame mode as well). 2) Not much, is it? 3) Again, not exactly much. 4) I don't think there has been a single CoD that hasn't had many times as much new content as GO. Again, costs 60$ but you also get 4 times as much (if not more). Don't see how CoD is outrageous if this is fine.
4 times as much content? 0/10 obvious troll do not want to deal with at 12 p.m.
4 times as much content? 0/10 obvious troll do not want to deal with at 12 p.m.
Huh, 12 pm is like really early.
