Well, they kinda do own all rights to the product, doesn't that mean they're free to control it however they like?
They own the rights to their product, but not videos related to it. If someone is reviewing the game and discusses the cheats/exploits and bugs, Activision is not legally allowed to do anything about it. Does that stop them from being able to take it down via Youtube's copyright strike system? No. But that doesn't mean it's right either.

The problem is on Youtube's lackluster system, and the fact that Activision and others are abusing it. They are not supposed to, but there is nobody enforcing the fact that they aren't supposed to do it.
It's also illegal because gameplay videos are under Fair Use.
I have had many claims filed against my YouTube. Some 'legit', others.. the song they claimed I used wasn't even in the video.
As long as you aren't signed up to earn money from the video's, most things fall under fair use.
i guess you could look like at it like that? or you could say they're trying to make the community better for their players by making it harder for average dumbass #519 to learn exploits
and before anyone says "why not just fix them?" they most likely are
Exploiting Youtube's copyright system is not the right way to handle exploits in your own game.
