SecretCity 2 and Tetris are pretty much 2 of the greatest things to have been made in sven coop.
Also the RE1 map(the good big one) but apparently its completely broken due to Sven Coop updates.
I also really enjoyed crazymaze. The version with the dance floor, there were multiple AFAIK
I actually agree, I think Sven went downhill when they started introducing their own models and sounds for existing guns. It just didn't have that great HL1 feeling anymore.
I disagree, I feel the original half-life models and sounds are terribly dated and needed improvement. And a 50 round magazine on what was probably supposed to be an MP5 is kind of silly. It has certainly left the classic HL1 scenery, but I can only play through the campaign so many times before I get tired of it.
A classic mode switch would be nice, but I think your opinion is a minority in the player-base unfortunately.
I just remember trying out the new SvenCoop with new models and sounds, and it was just literally an instant let-down.
Not too long before that, I had been rocking and enjoying SvenCoop like no other. It's very sad to me, I definitely wouldn't mind playing it again with some very dated graphics and sounds and everything, it was the salt of the game, the whole old feeling to it. Mmmh!

maybe you should download the low def model packs then???

Maybe I should, or maybe I won't bother anymore.

Model packs don't fix the weapon and gameplay changes.
No, Snark Cafe is still around.
But only a handfull of long time regulars (m̶y̶s̶e̶l̶f̶ ̶o̶c̶c̶a̶s̶i̶o̶n̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ actually, I don't go there much anymore either. The mod is basically dead) still play there.
It's definitely on its last legs though.
Honestly, Sven Co-op needs to move onto Black Mesa (AKA the true Half-Life: Source).
We already have a Sven Co-op Source for Half-Life 2 to some degree and it was never too popular to begin with.
It's pretty much the only thing they can do to keep this mod from completely dying though I doubt the devs would even consider making the switch.
It pains me to admit it, but I think you're right. I got my fun out of Sven Coop at least, so I don't regret playing it or donating to it or anything. There's just not really any good maps that I haven't played already, and we all kinda moved on.

I guess all good things must come to an end.
I tried to play Sven coop once, but every time I tried to connect to a server it would give me an error. I think it was something about a gun.
