We're talking about pc release and whether or not delaying it has to do with combating piracy. How is my last post unrelated?
Because we were talking about whether or not it had to do with combating internet piracy, not boosting the sales of the console versions.
Because we were talking about whether or not it had to do with combating internet piracy, not boosting the sales of the console versions.
One is a bi-product of the other.
You know they said that the others can be upgraded by just driving or shooting or whatever, right?
so? driving is a skill the player should get better at, not the in game character.
so? driving is a skill the player should get better at, not the in game character.
Agreed. Only driving skill that should be upgraded is biking. so if you hit a pole at 50mph, you dont fall off. :P
One is a bi-product of the other.
What? It still doesnt make it on-topic.
so? driving is a skill the player should get better at, not the in game character.
And both will probably happen in tandem. I dont see the big issue. [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] GTA SA had like, literally the same thing and ive never seen a single person even mention it.

[editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] GTA SA had like, literally the same thing and ive never seen a single person even mention it.
but the car physics in gta sa was completely different than gta iv. it was all arcade like, where gta iv was realistic. it makes no sense to have cars handle realistically but somehow the character drives better.
but the car physics in gta sa was completely different than gta iv. it was all arcade like, where gta iv was realistic. it makes no sense to have cars handle realistically but somehow the character drives better.
We're not talking about GTA IV are we? We dont know how the vehicles are handled in GTA V yet.
all i said it would be a huge let down if they went back to arcadey handeling, which would be a step backward imo. whatever.
We're not talking about GTA IV are we? We dont know how the vehicles are handled in GTA V yet.
Whats your issue? First you don't understand the relation to delaying the pc version to not only combat piracy, but as a bi-product, boost console sales. And now, someone mentioned the skill system in SA, so we are talking about multiple versions of GTA, not just gta v. Learn how to follow a damn thread ffs.
uhhhh that soudns exactly like san andreas
It sounds like you level up various capabilities without them being absolutely required, compared to San Andreas shoving it down your throat a lot. Not to mention they don't seem to have Hunger in there or such.

We were discussing the theory that the games are delayed to combat piracy, NOT just to boost console sales, so stop bringing that up because it wasnt in the discussion. 2. The skill system was only in GTA SA, and we dont know anything about the way vehicles drive or handle in V, so bringing up IV was a moot point.
A. The people who'd pirate the game would probably wait and pirate it anyway. B. You can pirate games on console.
Going to address B only, because arguing against A will just lead to people throwing out anecdotal information and dancing around the word "stealing." What's easier and less risky? Torrenting, mounting an ISO, and dragging one or two files, or hacking your console (most likely being barred from online content and probably being unable to connect online ever again), downloading the file, and burning a DVD?
Ahem. 1. We were discussing the theory that the games are delayed to combat piracy, NOT just to boost console sales, so stop bringing that up because it wasnt in the discussion.
I made it part of the discussion. That's how forums work.
I made it part of the discussion. That's how forums work.
And it was off topic. So what are you trying to get at? [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline]
Going to address B only, because arguing against A will just lead to people throwing out anecdotal information and dancing around the word "stealing."
And it was off topic.
It wasnt off topic, and you're still an idiot.
MP3's TPS gameplay made other TPS games feel like shit. Fuck yeah.
It wasnt off topic, and you're still an idiot.
Whoah, no need for the name calling, champ. But to explain: yes it is off topic as while it does relate to the topic in a sense, being that delaying the PC version would obviously boost console sales, the whole topic of the conversation was you and me discussing why or why not the theory on the delays being soley because of preventing piracy, NOT if it would boost console sales. [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] So basically, bringing up the whole thing about it being just to boost console sales was you changing your entire argument and was a moot point with your previous one.

One is a bi-product of the other, as I said. That in itself is related.
I wasn't "changing my entire argument". One is a bi-product of the other, as I said. That in itself is related.
No, you are changing your entire argument because while one is a bi-product of the other, your argument was that the sole reason they delayed the games was to combat piracy. Im not sure how you're not getting this.
after RDR and MP3, I have incredibly high expectations of GTA V. hopefully the pc port won't be utter shit this time
I just don't understand why people think like this. The evidence is right there in front of you*, so you must be completely idiotic if you think they're not making a port just because they haven't announced it yet.
*Right there in front of you as long as you're willing to go out of your way to create a table containing every single Rockstar game released vs their release dates for both consoles and PC. Do you have a point? Yes. Does not going out of your way to create a table make you stupid? No. Of course, I'm only really concerned with your tone, as I don't think that this "proof" is as obvious as you make it out to be to an average person, especially considering Rockstar's mysterious silence on the subject.
doesn't sound like any gta game ive played before. it kinda looks like they're trying to appeal to the saints row crowd with these special abilities. it's good that they're reaching out more and trying new features

Jesus calm your tits dude. Hell, most of this was in San-Andreas, not the max payne stuff, but the rest was pretty much.
