GTX 770 here, the new wood particle things with that option crash my game. Other surfaces are fine. Just not wood :v:
Oh great. More Gameworks shit. I guess I shouldn't play the game anymore.
You can disable it...
im very sure nvidia sinks a shitload of money into bethesda to optimize stuff for nvidia only tbh amd cards run it pretty bad and get a lot of things removed because nvidia is a bad player im disappointed that i wont get to experience most of the graphical upgrades
I've found no proof of Nvidia actively paying developers off, but I know that AMD lets Nvidia see the source for their effects technology (TressFX, etc.), while Nvidia doesn't let AMD see the source for Gameworks. This means that Nvidia can optimize on a driver level for AMD's stuff, but AMD can never optimize on a driver level for Nvidia's stuff.
they have paid off some developers to include nvidia exclusive features and to use CUDA over OpenCL. Not sure if this is the case with Bethesda but nVidia does have some very shitty practices.
Oh thank fuck, wires don't use copper anymore with the patch. That was really getting on my nerves.
it's kind of depressing to see the amount of people who are legit in denial about their performance in the game. no, it doesn't run "fine" for you, or anybody else. the major settlements are disgustingly bad. there are dozens upon dozens of professional benchmarks that document this extensively. makes it so much worse to see pete hines being a smug cunt about it on twitter and telling people "the game runs very well ;}"
That might actually be true because I never reached a major settlement because the game bored me too much. Had solid 60s everywhere else though, including that one factory where everyone drops frames.

Even a 770 shouldn't be having that many issues with it, let alone sli 970's or 980 ti's
"Running fine" and running fine considering what the game looks like are two different things. There is no excuse for the current performance level of the game compared to the quality of the visuals. There are major problems under the hood that are causing issues for some people that doesn't have much to do with graphics and that is what needs to be fixed.
Has any one fixed the issue of the game simulating faster above 60fps?
No because the FPS is tied to the engine, there's nothing we can do about that like that Need for Speed game.
I meet the recommended specs and still have trouble running it.
He's not lying, you're just being a pedant
Don't know what you're getting at, but when the developer says there are, in no ways, any limits to the FPS, maybe the game shouldn't break when it runs above 60. [editline]aids[/editline] I am on surfurs' side, if you didn't realize.
they still haven't fixed that weapon bug. Kinda inexcusable.

That isn't the same as a limit.
My point is that they didn't lie. The game is not limited in FPS. It just has issues when running above 60. That isn't the same as a limit.
It's limited to 60 if you want the game to work as expected. Semantics man. Game is broken as fuck above 60fps.
It's limited to 60 if you want the game to work as expected. Semantics man. Game is broken as fuck above 60fps.
There's a pretty significant difference between a company outright lying and an engine limitation
My point is that they didn't lie. The game is not limited in FPS. It just has issues when running above 60. That isn't the same as a limit.
When the engine is tied to the FPS like this and the game has a meltdown at 60+ FPS, then its limited by design.
