Yeah and DN1/2 Duke was pretty clean in comparison to D3D Duke.
In DN1, he wore a pink shirt and watched Oprah.
It's not even the same fucking character.
God fucking forbid sites such as Destructoid and Kotaku which are both financed by massive media corporations have to pay for a $60 game. It pisses me off when PR guys send these people copies above the littler guys that have to pay for everything out of pocket. Same shit happened to me when I wanted a 3DS review unit. They sent them to the people who could buy thousands of them.

That's just how these things work. You want a free 3DS to review? Make a name for yourself, then throw Nintendo a request. The main reason places like Joystiq get free copies of games is because they get it in advance to review before or as the game comes out.
I've played all of them except #2, never finished any of them however.
The gameplay is on completely different planets. Duke Nukem 3D were much more like Doom, which is a good thing. DNF is more like a bunch of scripts and mini-games coming at you in a row and you have to press some buttons and shoot some people to keep going to the next script and mini-game.
Just the fact that you can't wield more than two weapons at the time kills a major part of the game.
the first duke games played like contra, not doom. Only two out of five original (ie. not counting ports like duke nukem advance or duke nukem 64,) Duke games have been first person shooters
honestly the only thing I didn't like about DNF were all the MASH SPACEBAR TO OPEN DOOR sequences towards the beginning

Uh, I have so obviously you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I focus on hardware, not gaming but I'll do an article on gaming once in a while.

I don't think you caught up with the edit when you hit the quote button.

You act like this has never ever happened before
5 is low, I'd put it at around a 7 or even 7.5
Sure thing, IGN.
and not to mention that the games had never been about the game itself, but the character.
um excuse me have you played a duke game before??

sure the first was all game but after that it was all character, increasingly so with each release
DNF, Brink, Alice and a ton of other games lately have been good to the people that play them but are getting bad reviews from major critics even though I guarantee the next CoD will probably average in high 80s or 90s. Before long game critics are goings to be 100% completely useless if they keep up the crap.

lol
except any COD was more entertaining than DNF

maybe the first few but the recent ones have been terrible

You'd have a point if it wasn't so rehashed
rehashed is a different story
but i doubt most people would find DNF as fun as call of duty, and the role of a video game critic is to let people know which games are good to buy

Well they're clearly not fulfilling their role when they're telling people not to buy games and it turns out that people actually enjoy them. DNF is not a fantastic game but I found it entertaining and it deserves better better than it's gotten.

If thats true then they're terrible at their jobs.

Some of them anyway.
i can't even play it at a playable framerate ;-;
I don't even trust most critics, it's much better to play the demo first or hear from someone who actually reviews the game rather than just bashing it constantly. Mind you, it would've been a better idea if they actually fucking let us play the demo without preordering the game.
This game was pretty fun, had some nice jokes, parodies like Master Chiefs armor and Dylan being a Marcus Fenix parody. Especially the phone messages you hear around the maps. I honestly liked the combat. 1 man army Duke Nukem, killing pigcops and aliens using bare fists, weaponry, and anything throw-able.
tbh this game doesn't deserve all these low reviews. i actually liked the game, and the customizable house feature.
Critics trashed the graphics, the graphics were pretty damn good, especially on high details so they must have been high.

They probably didn't release that demo to the public because it literally has the worst level in the game in it.
Seriously. Worst level in the game, right there in the demo.

"They're doing a bad job at reviewing games. I liked it, so it's not bad at all!"
Coming from me as a somewht critic, I didnt hate the gme, but the highest score you can objectively thinking give it is 40%.
Critics trashed the graphics, the graphics were pretty damn good, especially on high details so they must have been high.
yeah, I didn't even play it maxed out and it looked amazing. I did try the motion blur though and it wasn't very good, maybe that's what they were complaining about
Duke Nukem Forever is a flop.
It does deserve scores like 3/10 or 4/10.
It completely missed the essence of Duke Nuke 3D's gameplay.

It still doesn't deserve something that low.
wow are you guys high how can you enjoy this piece of shit?

fact: all games are far better when inebriated
