Hm, didn't know this.
I played a couple of matches today and didn't get any extra XP.
Still, getting all the weapons doesn't take much time, what takes time is the upgrades for each weapon.

Just saw a new notice:
NOTICE: We are aware of 2XP weekend not being recognized on PC and are investigating!
I haven't played Battlefield 3 since it's last major patch.
I hit the max level, I unlocked everything and the game is just pitiful. They nerfed things that didn't need to be, they buffed things that were fine the way they were.
They still haven't optimized their game, or maps, whichever. Somehow Karkand maps load quicker than vanilla, which only means one thing.
Meh. I still probably won't play BF3 until one of those expansions comes out, then it's going to get boring all over again, they just want CoD's audience.
Explain to me how boosting suppression, a feature which no other MP FPS that I know has, is making this game more like COD? Post-patch there is actually a need for tactics rather than pre-patch where all you needed was a FAMAS with foregrip and suppressor, or worse, a USAS w/wo Frag.
2 week delay for a double XP weekend.
if the game is pitiful then why are you spending money on map packs and continuing to play the game
because I want to see if Armored Fury or "End Game" is going to bring anything back.

This game requires no tactics whatsoever in the first place. It's idiocy to say other wise. Most maps require no strategy. Suppression is nice, I'll grant that. It's a nice way LMG's can lay down suppression, too bad it's never used like it's supposed to be.
If this was an actual outdoor shooter, instead of a corridor shooter, Support could prone. While a team of Assault combos can actually go in, while Recon, recons the area and spots people on the map. With that stupid glare, that shouldn't be on a scope in the first place unless it's directly facing the sun and at a angle it's glared towards your eye, which is a 5% chance. Then if Support see's someone, he can start firing, without revealing his position due to a huge ass display of a triangle on a map, and someone who is spamming Q around can spot him, using a HUD on your EYE to spot it.
If they did it right, BF3 would be an amazing game.
They did it wrong. Why many are going to BF2:PR, or BC2 and other games. They want to have FUN. Not be wallowed into frustration with BF3's glitchyness bullshit.

Obviously he was talking about your comment on the loading times of the B2K maps, but I'll assume you got it for free.
I think you should stop playing on Metro 24/7 servers if you think this is a corridor shooter, becuase even on Xbox my friends/teammates "with mics and I use the same tactics (supports with LMGs on bipods and recons for spotting enemies) that you said were impossible to utilize. Not to mention that if you dont want to play a match without 3D spotting it is ridiculously easy to find a server with it turned off.
Finally, I will concede that the PC has some serious issues with the game's performance, but you seem to throw in the gameplay traits such as spotting (which is in BC2 in case you didnt know) along with the game's "glitchyness".
