Battlefield 1942's demo, that only had Wake Island. What a mind blower it was, to go from small arena shooters like HLDM and MoH:AA to that.
I never experience that these days.
lego indiana jones with my brother every day
we practically speedran that level by the time we finally got the actual game
I played the Skate game demos everyday until I had the game. I played Sniper Elite 2 demo so much I didn't want to play it when it came out lol
On the 360, Halo Reach, Batman Arkham City (i think), an live arcade game called Roboblitz, and Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. (I love NnB and the n64 games both)
Red Faction Guerilla, I love destructible environments in games so I played that to death just knocking over the buildings in new ways.
The original xcom EU demo
Quake II, Quake III Arena, Final Fantasy VII, and SiN.
In kindergarten.
Crash Bandicoot 2. Despite the fact I had the actual game.
the XIII demo, over and over.
Metal Gear Solid V
Tales of Berseria and Doom 2016 though at the time, i was trying to benchmark my Alienware Alpha R2.
medievil
I remember having a CD with a demo of Abe's Exodus. It was very long, going beyond the scene in the mines where all your friends get sick from the brew vending machine.
I actually never knew where the demo ended because I was too bad at the game by then.
Tbh I think everyone universally agree that JC2's demo was the quintessential 'perfect demo'
Half-Life: Uplink and the UT 2003 and 2004 demos are the ones I remember. I played Uplink a lot because I didn't get the full game till much later and it is still fun to play after getting the full game, and the UT2003 and 2004 demos because they had so much replayablity.
MGS1 on the ps1.
It came in the case of another game I owned, but i cannot for the life of me remember what game it was because I barely played it compared to the demo. It would end when you entered the tank hanger vent but you could dick about on the helipad for eternity, so i did.
And many many years later the L4D1 demo, the first 2 levels of no mercy and you could play it online.
Honourable mention to Silent Bomber also on ps1. Had to make do with the demo for many years because I could not find the full game.
Stuntman (PS2), Amplitude (PS2) and Just Cause 2 (PC).
Left 4 Dead 1 demo, before the game was fully released. It let you play the first two levels of the first campaign and needless to say I played the heck out of those two levels.
I played the L4D demo so much that even when it released I started browsing to the game files to keep playing it because I was only a kid and wouldn't be getting the game for another month at Christmas.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein Multiplayer Demo
I cannot begin to tell you how much time I spent on this beach:
[img_thumb]http://et.trackbase.net/img/etmap/58et_beach1.jpg[/img_thumb]
Postal 2 cause I was 12 at the time the demo was out and there was no way my parents would buy it for me.
i can't remember all of them but i used to download and play a lot of demos from xbox live
however the one that sticks out to me is the burnout 3 demo that was included as an "extra" in need for speed underground 2. as a kid i hadn't even heard of burnout before then, but i played the shit out of the 2 races that were playable in that demo and eventually i got the full game and it became one of my all-time favorites

It was always amazing to see how far you could get in a half hour. That should honestly just be a mode in open world games. Like give the player everything and see what they can do in that time.

That would be pretty cool.
GTA where you can do any job on the map, but you only have an hour to see how far you get
I also remember using cheat engine to hack the timer and have infinite demo time
The Brave Fencer Musashi demo I had on a disc from PS underground, then when I got the actual game, it came with a demo disc for Final Fantasy 8 and it made me buy that game :v:
Halo Trial on PC was the best, especially since I got into PC gaming after Halo 3 released and I couldn't get a copy of 1 or 2.
Star Wars Episode I: Racer, it only included the first race. I know that map by heart. Ody Mandrell was my main man.
Age of Empires 2. I played the demo so much.
Mount and Blade. Only let you get up to around level 8. Needless to say I made like 50 characters
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. It was one of the most advanced, most entertaining demos I'd played at the time.
Syphon Filter.
At first i was amazed over the graphics and how fluid the game was.
Then i just wandered around doing this.

And the game is still fucking awesome.
The Stanley Parable demo, because hot damn I like the writing in that game.
