newsflash: people like to watch sports anyway wOAH [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline] also you say "it's not that hard" but it just sounds like you're trying to convince yourself
ok well i guess i'll just continue to not watch tv then??? i don't really know who you're trying to convince here but i was just contributing my own opinion to the discussion like i was just saying that i think it's boring and all of a sudden here you are YOU'RE WRONG like whoa dude
Okay well even if I'm not as good as the people who play professionally my point still stands? Why would I want to watch other people play when I could just go play the game myself? It's just boring, especially for games like MOBAs where the "entertaining" parts can be chopped up into two minute long clips and put in a highlight reel. Also, anyone can be a professional gamer. It's not that hard if you REALLY care enough to do it. The same can be said for any sport.
There are people that want to see players that play the game to near perfection, either because they want to learn or because they find it exciting. Same reasons as normal sports pretty much.

So anybody who likes any kind of sport (read: most people) disagree with you, therefore you're not really contributing anything valid to the conversation.

Brood war was fun but sc2 I only watch because I know the players or to see how people are playing. Anyone can be a professional gamer is just completely made up. I don't know about mobas but, people have tried being pros in sc2. Not everyone can do it.

You can only get so far by trying to figure everything out by yourself. Even if you could, it would take much much longer. There are korean gaming houses that house groups of players together so they can practice 9+ hours a day, 6 days a week. Some people take these just as serious as any other sport.

Last LoL event I watched one of the competitors was so disconnected from reality he shit his pants on stage and didn't budge because he was too busy playing. People who do this as a sport are dead inside. They've forced themselves to care about nothing else but the game and their sponsors while crowds of people stare at you for hours on end. I'm pretty sure if you gave them a feeding tube and made them sit on a toilet they would never leave. Just spend days on end playing shitty MMO's. If it WAS a sport then it would be the most abusive one on the player.
professional quake matches are nuts dude have you seen one
Over here we have a huge CS eSports scene with big championships and shit. Some of the stuff people can do in that game is kickass.
itt: people who have never seen an esports event live say esports isnt a thing trust me, when you get together a crowd of passionate people, you can't help but get sucked into the enthusiasm [editline]23rd December 2013[/editline]
Last LoL event I watched one of the competitors was so disconnected from reality he shit his pants on stage and didn't budge because he was too busy playing. Maybe not the pants-shitting thing though.
