I don't know about you guys but I enjoy the Sims. I never really understood why people call the game shit because of stuff like the Katy Perry packs since those are 100% optional DLC that don't add anything you would want if you didn't want peppermint bras to begin with. I mean I really like SimCity as well so maybe I'm just a big idiotic sheep with terrible taste or something. I'd be a lot more excited for this if it wasn't for the obvious fact that there's going to be a billion and a half expansion packs so I'll probably never be able to get the game and all of the packs.
No Linux?? Not buying…
Probably because it's not worth developing for an OS with 1% market share.
tressfx
please no 40€ expansions, ever, unless they feature a whole lot of new game mechanics. if it has to just be new furniture let me get them from the workshop greedy fucks.
The Sims is one of EA's most profitable series so they have no reason to slow down any time soon. I hate myself for buying stuff packs since they generally just come with a handful of items and cost close to 25 bucks.
I'm ok with this. Sims 3 has been going on for a while and could do with a graphical facelift if nothing else. Hopefully they won't axe out a bunch of core functionality and make it into DLC.
Honestly, it seems a bit soon to announce a Sims 4, though I know it's about that time (if anything, we've gotten more Sims 3 content than we have previous iterations). Also, unless there's some killer feature in this one (like how TS3 had the open town and Create a Design), I don't think there will be any real reason to upgrade from TS3 to TS4.
bet it won't have pets or seasons on release it never does it never does
No Linux?? Not buying…
yeah god damn it why won't they add support to an OS that only 3 annoying neckbeards in the entire planet use
bet it won't have pets or seasons on release it never does it never does
Wanna build a house for your sim? There's a DLC for that.
bet it won't have pets or seasons on release it never does it never does
But as EPs for Sims 4, they'll be with something new. Like in Sims 3's Pets, aside from cats and dogs we also got horses. So in Sims 4's Pets we'll get, umm, bears or whatever. Oh wait, I actually figured out why EA decides to make Sims 4 instead of supporting Sims 3.

Too early.
its too early to do that and i never bought a EP or SP for sims 3 i guess i did great, because that will be the size of max payne 3
To quote a friend "Sims was 2000, S2 was 2004, S3 was 2009, S4 is 2014" The gap for 3 to 4 is larger than the gap for 1 to 2.
lets hope they'll add a in-game map editor, instead of buying it (like on sims 2) or downloading and working like a pro, that doesn't work on high end pc's(sims 3 caw)
Well, given the SimCity fiasco, I say we should make an effort to NOT buy this game under any circumstances. The older versions still exist, and I think there's still a modding scene, so we don't need another iteration; tarting a game up doesn't equal a better game.
Too early.
Says who? The Sims 3 has been out for 4 years. [editline]6th May 2013[/editline]
Well, given the SimCity fiasco, I say we should make an effort to NOT buy this game under any circumstances. We still have the first one, no?
If they got rid of the sim store id play
Can we actually CONTROL SIMS DIRECTLY like in the god damn GBA titles I mean it would be so much easier to do tasks The urbz and bustin out on GBA were tight and seriously there needs to at least be the damn option I mean come on ppl!!!
Can't wait to buy the exact same expansion packs as the last three times
If they are going to make a Sims 4. please add a online mode so we can play with other people.
the sims online was a horrible failure and you should feel bad for suggesting it again
The Sims is a good example of a really good and hard to fuck up franchise I'm looking forward to seeing EA's clever ways to fuck it up
They confirmed there is no DRM (apperantly) so there's that thing they didn't fuck up so far. EDIT: Incase anyone says that it wasnt said anywhere, heres a statement issued by EA themselves: "“I can confirm that The Sims 4 is a single-player offline experience,” Maxis spokesperson Charlie Sinhaseni told GamesBeat." I'd like them to show sims working and allow sims to travel to different areas seamlessly.
I'd like them to show sims working and allow sims to travel to different areas seamlessly.
That would be a neat feature.
maybe EA will add an API for modders and stop selling useless features as extra expansion packs also i hope they stop selling expansion packs, think about how much collosal waste they generate as they sit in stores for decades, just do it all dlc for the planet's sake! i know not all people will agree with this
im looking forward to the sims 4. i liked all the games. i just hope they dont nickel and dime us constantly. not likely, but i can hope
maybe EA will add an API for modders and stop selling useless features as extra expansion packs
Now that you said it, they wont do it. Just like they wont (but should) include pets in the base game.
seasons really should be in the base game but for that reason they never will be they're possibly my favourite expansion thing
Well yeah, that's why they keep them out of the base game and in expansions, because they know people like them and will shed money for them.
