The Sims is a good example of a really good and hard to fuck up franchise I'm looking forward to seeing EA's clever ways to fuck it up
Its like EA has a team of scientists to find the best ways to purposely be fucking retarded, it was a work of are with what they did with Sim City.
Following the trend of 2013's SimCity, The Sims 4 is reported to only allow the management of a single midget in a small studio apartment, mixed among other random players in an apartment complex.
It felt like the Sims franchise always ships with parts cut from the base game and later sold as DLC. It's always about the money and the milking.
I'm not going to buy it again, the third one felt like shit.
It felt like the Sims franchise always ships with parts cut from the base game and later sold as DLC.
with mind blowing always on DRM and crappy land restrictions, also your trash effects the environment so we want you to feel bad about torturing your sims, *sarcasm
if you litter it will literally yell at you and call you a big fat mean person
And people who already bought TS3 and all the expansion will re-buy the same game with small improvements, even though that mean they'll have a lot less content until all the expansion are re-released. And then, the game will run like shit because of all these expansions.
They managed to fuck Simcity up, no way I'm getting this at launch (not like I ever have for The Sims)
I'm guessing Origin exclusive?
Cautiously Optimistic about this. If it really does have proper offline support like they're saying now, I will probably be interested. I'm sure they'll proceed with the same tactics of releasing overpriced expansions for it, but no one is forcing anyone to buy them for full price, so I'm okay with that. I will say this as well, not sure if Facepunch will agree, but each generation of Sims has improved upon the last. Not necessarily in all aspects of gameplay, but I know that I cannot go back and play the Sims 2 after playing the Sims 3.

The full world introduced in Sims 3 was pretty insane when it first came out. Still is in comparison to the older Sims.
thats exactly it. they even hold off on patching bugs so they can be included in the expansion packs. the know people will pay for it and theyre right
I know there is a lot of dislike for EA on Facepunch, but you just pulled this bit out of your ass. This doesn't happen.
I'm guessing Origin exclusive?
Of course. It took a long while before TS hit Steam.
thats exactly it. they even hold off on patching bugs so they can be included in the expansion packs. the know people will pay for it and theyre right
No they don't. Hell, when expansions come out, they release massive patches with bug fixes as well as new features. When World Adventure came out, the basement system was included in a patch for free, even to those who didn't buy that expansion. I believe every expansion released has had a patch accompany it with at least one new, free, feature in it.
Says who? The Sims 3 has been out for 4 years.
[editline]6th May 2013[/editline] Should wait a couple more years until the graphics are below average. Better technology is on the way. Haven't really had enough of all the expansions yet.

you guys are acting like EA never published a Sims game before. I kind of like the 'minimalistic' look. Hopefully it uses Glassbox engine.
Now release a "The Sims 3: Complete Collection" with all the DLC at an affordable price and i'll buy the shit out of it.
I don't have any problems with this. I really enjoyed Sims 3. Lets just hope they get rid of the rabbit holes. That was my only major problem with the game. [editline]6th May 2013[/editline] I love how you can just tell they said this: "celebrates the heart and soul of the Sims themselves, giving players a deeper connection with the most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever in this single-player offline experience." Solely to prevent people from flipping their shit like with Simcity.
No wait, the Frostbite 3 engine! I'll be laughing my head off. (See that all-formatted three? It's like Overhyped Sellout Lens Flare Dubstep War Zombies) If The Sims 4 will be on PS4, I'd rather play the sequel to Lester the Unlikely ..Actually, I think my bro's girlfriend would say "No thanks". Besides, does EA actually need so many game companies and engines? Sorry to hear that they can't make up their fucking minds.
To be honest, it seems like Frostbite is quickly becoming the EA go to engine and it follows a trend of most publishers starting to maintain one good in house engine and forgoing commercial offerings. Publishers are big enough that they can afford to do so without larger issues really. Epic - unreal obviously Bethesda - their gamebryo spinoff (though probably some IDtech spinoff sooner or later) EA - frostbite Valve - source Hell even smaller publishers like CD projekt and others are starting to make an engine they are planning to use across multiple in house titles.
YES. Man, I didn't even think about it until now but if they bring in more interactions for jobs and way, way less rabbit holes it would be amazing.
I loved building restaurants for my sims to own in TS2 by combining OFB and LN. I was really disappointed when I found out they were just glorified objects. No to mention how cool it was to actually go into a restaurant, be seated, order your food, chat at the table- I just loved those options.
But but- They never remade the Open For Business expansion pack :( I would be happy with just more expansions to be honest.
I liked The Sims 3. I don't believe they're gonna pull the shit that they did with SimCity assuming they want people to actually buy expansion packs for it because that game completely fucking wrecked them. I hope this'll be just as good.
If they got rid of the sim store id play
There I got rid of sims store.
But but- They never remade the Open For Business expansion pack :( I would be happy with just more expansions to be honest.
You could make money so easily with this expansion, it was fun. Like you could just put a poker table somewhere in your garden, make people pay to come here and that was it. They would just pay you to sit around your table and play poker. And if they were plant sims, they could just stay there indefinitely since rain and sunlight would satisfy their needs.

Oh, and selling items for ridiculous amounts and then dazzling customers to buy it.
I hope they fixed how the Sim Editor lighting made everybody have super-prominent cheek bones.
