I just found it fun building community lots and over-priced staff lounges with hot tubs and arcades.
Oh, and selling items for ridiculous amounts and then dazzling customers to buy it.
Man I want to re install TS2 now. I think OFB was my favorite EP next to late night.
Are they still slaves to EA? if not, i still won't buy their products until those chains are broken... As I will expect them to pull all type of shit in this one to piss us off like always.

Like always?
The Sims 3 was a fine game.
The Sims 1 is one of the few games i would like to see re-released with 1080p support and of course HD textures, as well as the easier ability to create objects and to share mods.
But yeah with EA in charge i don't see that happen anytime soon.
I prefer it stay untainted. The game, and its mods, all have a early 2000s mindset with them. If it gets re-released, it's just going to get modernized up the ass.
But but-
They never remade the Open For Business expansion pack :(
I would be happy with just more expansions to be honest.
I think this upcoming one will be the closest we'll see to an OFB expansion. :\
the sims is legitimately one of the few game series that are getting better with each installment
im looking forward to this
As much as I enjoy The Sims, I'm not super enthusiastic about this news. It was said a couple of times already, but its all but outright said that the base game will be bare bones to sell expansion/stuff packs. They most likely will follow suite from what I've read happened in The Sims 3 and cut some normally standard stuff to sell for real money on release(I didn't play The Sims 3 myself, but I've read that hot tubs and high tier electronics had to be bought from a cash shop before you could use them in game, these things were part of the game out of the box for The Sims 1 & 2).
They could do like they did with The Sims 2 and have bare bones "previews" of future expansion stuff. What I mean by this was how The Sims 2 had Community Lots, which were pretty much a less "exciting" version of going Downtown in The Sims: Hot Date. Eventually I think there was a The Sims 2 version of Hot Date which added more interesting locals than parks and grocery stores.
