Left 4 Dead 3 potentially teased by screenshot of Valve employee's folder
What would the fourth Left 4 Dead game be called? Left 4 Dead?
Probably. After Left 4 Dead 3, presumably with a fuckton of post-launch support for that title, it'll probably have been so long since Left 4 Dead started that if Valve started working on Left 4 Dead 4, they'd probably pull the "same-name reboot" bupkis that a lot of modern companies have been pulling over the last few years.
Except they'd probably try to be clever about it and super-emphasize the 4 in the boxart of said reboot, as if to say "yeah technically this IS Left 4 Dead 4".
Nah I mean the one after this
woops, skimmed over your post and didn't see "fourth" in it. Honestly if they're going to monetization route, and it's on the newest version of their engine, I doubt we'd even see a L4D4. But if we did, probably like the person above said with an emphasize on the 4.
Left 4 Dead: Global Offensive?
Makes me wonder how hard it is for Valve employees to shut up and uphold their NDA's. If you work at that place and you work on projects such as a new L4D or you know that HL3 is being worked on the background then i sure guess it would be tough one to remain silent, probably all your friends hammering about it as well.
I imagine that breaking their NDA would go as far as going to prison, the guy who leaked HL2 was on borderline of getting into jail
It's easy to stay silent, consider if you're working at Valve, you're probably working on your own projects, you wouldn't want anyone to leak what you're working on, so it's easy to empathize with not wanting leaks.
Breaking an NDA isn't against the law, you won't get jail-time. You will probably get fired, and the company will probably sue you (and end your career), but no jail-time.
Morons are teasing themselves lmao
I feel kinda skeptical about this one. A) It's not properly confirmed yet anyway, and B) I think some games just don't need another game added to those already released, and it can ruin the game sometimes. But we shall see.
Left Four Dead
Left 8 Dead
[editline]30th June 2016[/editline]
if someone doesn't get it then they should have probably passed elementary school
Why is it called Left 4 Dead if its About survivors, shouldn't it be called Left 4 Alive? Or would Minute Maid sue them?

being left for dead doesn't mean you have to die
Why is it called Left 4 Dead if its About survivors, shouldn't it be called Left 4 Alive? Or would Minute Maid sue them?
its because they were left to die / left for the dead
Its VNN/ValveTime's job to cover rumors and these kind of things, PCGAMER should be able to decide what is and isn't news worthy for more general media.
PCGamer's job is to get clicks to make money. If that means they have to post some clickbait mixed in with the news they'll do it. At the end of the day, they need to have made money to keep the site afloat and posting "HITMAN got a new level, click here to see us talk about it" won't do that when the most interesting part is in the title and anyone who gives a damn can just start HITMAN and play it themselves.
PCGamer isn't bad or anything but it's definitely not the patron saint of videogame journalism.
Dunno why you're considering it a rumor, the screenshot is directly from a Valve employee, who was shown to be on the L4D3 Jira mailing list.

All it basically confirms is that L4D3 is a current/ongoing project, and not abandoned.
Am I the only one here who is too retarded to understand how this is indicative of anything that this is connected to L4D3, or... anything at all?

Look in the file explorers favourites, there's a folder for l4d3.

Why?
L4D3 has been leaked many times before, references in robot repair demo, Jira, that source 2 presentation (Although that was a port)
This screenshot was taken by a valve employee in the last week or so so I dont understand why you dont think it'll exist because it does.
We are definiately seeing more of Left 4 Dead in the future

........
Meh
I guess people are desperate for Valve, if they grasp at straws such as this.

Being under a game development NDA is both awesome and painful.
It's awesome because once you internally find out something is being developed or discussed it becomes exciting to know something the rest of the world doesn't.
But it also becomes painful because it is something you can't talk about at all to anyone else, and if something even slightly leaks all the speculation is usually dead wrong and you can't correct people :v:

Its literally a file, on a Valve employees desktop, with the name of a game they're working on, and said employee was previously on a jira tracker for company projects, for L4D3.
I dont know how thats grasping at straws.

if this happened with literally any game dev you wouldn't call this grasping for straws

people are cynical to a stupid degree with valve

Remember that one time their file directory leaked and several employees independent of one another made "hl3" folders as a joke? They've done this stuff before.

I don't agree with trusting rumors or leaks either but this is a clear cut case. Valve employee had a folder named

you just can't argue with that proof, but you can argue its importance

Uh, no?

Even then, you might have a point if he didnt straight up photoshop the image to remove the Left 4 Dead 3 folder after people found it.
