Kanye West and awesome are two words that should never be in the same sentence.
Except you know, he's absolutely fantastic in production.
You might not like him because you have a different taste in music, but to say he's not a good at what he does is ridiculous.

Give him a listen. His tracks are the best in the industry for production, and his songs are pretty deep thematically. As far as rap goes, he's pretty easy to dive into.
Why have they made the Battlefield theme even more unrecognizable?
I seriously couldn't make out any resemblance to the original.

if only they'd made it fun

The whole thing screams COD, cliche scenes with cliche choices and things we've seen before again and again.
There are lots of re-used art and sound assets. The AI looks pathetic.
And don't get me started over that woeful fart into the microphone at the end, what the hell has happened to the wonderful scores of music that accompanied the BF logo.
Very mixed feelings on this one.
so fucking what? just because it's a new game doesn't mean a fucking AK is going to suddenly sound or look different
like when people complain about CoD never changing; no shit it's a series, that's the fucking point

It's almost as if guns don't magically change day to day.

not to mention that each asset they don't have to remake is time they have to actually work on the gameplay
Pretty sure the multiplayer gameplay will be exactly the same as BF3, except there may be different maps that are hopefully better designed.

Speaking as a veteran of the series with ~300 hours in BF3 itself, I wouldn't mind. BF3 was pretty good and finally brought the infantry combat to something enjoyable thanks to the prior Bad Company games. Vehicle handling was tight and enjoyable as well.
A refined BF3 with better balance, hit detection, and tweaked suppression with the addition of a new faction, obviously new maps, and maybe a game mode or two would be just fine with me.
why can't they use some better music in these trailers? i mean i get it it's the whole "broader teenage gangsta audience" thing, but hell i'll be damned if this wouldn't fit

I would mind. Well not too much, but there is quite a bit of room for improvement in BF3->BF4.
As for vehicle handling and infantry combat, it's alright. Although vehicle vs. vehicle collision is a bit glitchy in BF3.
I find it a bit worrying that there was only one new weapon and not a single new vehicle model in a trailer which showcases multiple levels.

To me, re-using lots of things from Battlefield 3 just makes it seem like even more of an obvious cash-grab. The next Battlefield game shouldn't of been a 'replacement' for Battlefield 3, it should of been in a completely different setting like a BF2143 or something similar. It's too soon for another Modern-day battlefield game, this was announced less than a year after BF3 released.
A new setting would show they put effort into the game and don't want to just milk the setting/series. Instead they just went for another modern day setting because it's just quick and easy money with little effort (at least not as much effort as a different setting would require). Battlefield 3 sold well despite being a dumbed-down version of Battlefield 2 in many aspects, and even though the only real changes will be slightly improved graphics and more players on the map, along with a few new maps and possibly more destruction, Battlefield 4 will sell really well. I don't think things aren't going to change enough to be worth a new game in the same setting yet.

I thought it was other way around.
When it gets reduced to dirt money I'll probably buy it
seeing things like this make me wonder how graphically advanced we could be if they weren't catering to the needs of consoles.
seeing things like this make me wonder how graphically advanced we could be if they weren't catering to the needs of consoles.
we'd probably be around the same point we are now; it isn't the consoles that are holding the industry back, it's the mass amount of variety in PC hardware making it impossible to optimize games to use such hardware to its full potential
I just wish that these developers would put more work into making nice refined cinematic trailers rather than taking action snippets and putting them together, Valve seems to always put a lot of work into their trailers, as did the Planetside 2 developers.

Or they could stop using stupid licensed music completely and actually make tracks in-house that are tailored to the trailer instead of being totally generic.
