Selling separate Mac editions is a thing now?
Fuck off, Activision, with your pricing. Assassins Creed IV came out in November 2013, and its the latest game in the series, so it gets those givens for its price. Black Ops came out in November 2010 and it's the same, full priced. Black Ops 2 is over a year and a half old, and it's still full priced.
Fucking laughable. I wish they weren't this successful, making them think it's okay to do this.
Just a notice if you are buying Black Ops 1
The game is optimized literally worse than CoD Ghosts for me, I get around 20 fps at LOWEST settings
My specs
AMD Radeon 6670
Q6600 @ 2.3Ghz
6 Gigs of DDR2 Ram
The game is very very CPU intensive ( I get atleast 90% usage whenever I play it)
well its probably because you are using a shitty 2.3ghz cpu lol
well its probably because you are using a shitty 2.3ghz cpu lol
Well hey, doesn't explain why I can get atleast 60 fps max settings on black ops 2
I've been wanting to buy CoDMW1 for some time but really, 12,50€ is the best they can do after 7 years? Go fuck yourself. I've almost never paid more than 8€ for a AAA game, and even that's including all DLCs. Screw you Activision.
Wow you're a cheap ass.

cross-buy should be a requirement for selling on steam.
I'd kinda disagree with the airstrikes, on smaller maps, especially bog, they can rek an entire team in one go and it's relatively easy to guess where they'll be most effective.
Oh yeah, when someone uses an airstrike on a small map it's a load of shit because htey're going to get kills because it's almost impossible not to hit someone. But that's kind of my point about the newer games, you have more airstrikes that are even more pwerful than the one in CoD4, which lead into helicopters and gunships that are more powerful, accurate, and aggressive than the one in CoD4.
It was bad when there was only one of each thing, it's just a clusterfuck now.
They do, but Punkbuster is fucked iirc and you have to manually get the update because they don't provide it anymore or something
punkbuster is fucked but a lot of servers don't run it anymore for this reason.
The game is actually still very alive.

They're only doing that for BO1. It used to be the case for COD4:MW but not anymore. MW2 and MW3 both have Steam Play (cross-buy).
Seems like something between Treyarch and Aspyr (Aspyr developed all the Mac versions).

Dunno why you bothered to mention "LOWEST SETTINGS" when it's widely acknowledged that the game was never optimized for the lower settings, and the game actually runs smoother on higher settings.

Who cares cod is one of the most casual fps games out there. If you want balance go play counter strike.

I would love to know where you heard this
Do people still play the older CoDs? (as in MW1)
I would love to know where you heard this
Go in game and turn your settings up, you will have a higher FPS

It's funny because it also comes with one of the map packs so you're paying the same price as the PC version and getting a map pack for free
I hate how ghosts is 64-bit.
Then again, i'm not missing out on anything by not getting it.
[editline]29th August 2014[/editline]
cause i heard it's p bad

On the discussion of the Mac version, it also can't play any multiplayer with the regular version. Eh, it isn't like the multiplayer for that one is already dead anyways.....
Edit: And to all of you that you want the first 2 CoDs but you aren't paying $10 each, get up the Call of Duty: War Chest.
It's $15 and it comes with CoD1, CoD2 and United Offensive for CoD1
people complaining about $20 for the older cods being a ripoff, it's so much worse here

Even with 50% off, Australia still pays more than you do normally. Up until a couple years ago it was still sitting at launch price, around $100 while US was already down to $20
Do people still play the older CoDs? (as in MW1)
I bought it again about a week ago and there is still many people playing.
Do people still play the older CoDs? (as in MW1)
Looks like yes: http://www.steamcharts.com/app/7940
(Also CoD4 isn't a Steam exclusive iirc, so there might be more players)
Do people still play the older CoDs? (as in MW1)
Pretty sure that MW1 is still the most popular CoD on PC. Lots of people play on promod servers.
I just realized that call of duty 3 was never released on pc
Do people still play the older CoDs? (as in MW1)
The server list looks like this most days now (COD4)(punkbuster off, because its fucked):

Such a ripoff, the entire pricing system is all over the damn place
MW1 more expensive than MW2 and Black Ops??
You can probably get a physical copy cheaper than this
Yup, you can get COD1 and United Offensive as a bundle for $5 on Amazon, and that's the physical product to boot.
Also since this is a CoD thread, United Offensive was the single greatest entry in the entire series. This is a factual statement grounded in an enormous amount of fact, please do not attempt to disagree. The only acceptable discourse is whether or not Call of Duty 2 was equal to UO.
This might be from a couple weeks ago, buuut....

MORE?
Maybe you never spending more than €8 on a AAA game is more a problem with you than them. The fact that people whine so badly about a game "only" going down to $10 is pathetic, especially considering $10 is like an hour and a half at a minimum wage job. I'm starting to agree with the people who say that constant extreme steam sales are cancer, because MW1 is definitely worth at least $10
The things is that Activision has already made back whatever it cost them to make MW1, and every sale is basically pure profit now. I don't think 12.5€ is an unfair price, but it should really be the base price at this point. 25€ for MW1 is ridiculous. I'd probably buy it if it was <10€, because at that point it's simply an impulse buy. I don't mind paying full price for a game, but when it's been 7 years, I'm not really inclined to.
