next gen consoles are becoming a glorified way to play last gen games
Meanwhile, Duke Nukem gets neglected completely.
After Duke Nukem Forever, I kinda don't want another Duke game. I only want another Duke game if 3D Realms or Interceptor get ahold of it.
id be okay with this, 1's graphics have aged badly, and the PC version was really bad in the first place compared to 2 and PS when it came to optimizing and standard PC features
Playing the same game over again thats what the borderlands series is all about
After Duke Nukem Forever, I kinda don't want another Duke game. I only want another Duke game if 3D Realms or Interceptor get ahold of it.
3D Realms made DNF though. Why would you want them to do it?
Please give me more quests from T.K. Baha this time. I feel like i cant get enough of him.

Interceptor owns 3D Realms now. But I wouldn't trust interceptor any more than the old 3D Realms. Adding a fucking shotgun to their Rise of the Triad remake took them about 8 months, and it's been more than 6 months since the Duke Nukem 3D betas were announced to be released to the public, with nothing much happening. No idea what's taking them so long. There were good Duke Nukem games after Duke3D made by different developers though, like Manhattan Project for example, but the problem is that the franchise is now basically being "held hostage" by Gearbox.
Playing the same game over again thats what the borderlands series is all about
completely disregarding any improvements the games have made over time to themselves thats what leg of doom is all about
3D Realms made DNF though. Why would you want them to do it?
Come to think of it, that's true. I can't blame ALL of DNF's many problems on gearbox.
Cool, I'm a big fan of borderlands, I'll pick this up.
All one of them
all 20~ or so actually.
I'd be fine with this if they updated the graphics, fixed the PC port issues, made all the quest beginning dialogue into actual voices rather than text, and didn't touch the gameplay. I don't think that's asking too much
Nobody complained when Deep Silver did this with Metro Redux, though? Is it only okay when it's something you personally like?
There's only so much you can do with a cartoony-ass cell-shaded artsyle. [editline]12th December 2014[/editline]
all 20~ or so actually.
But I mean let's ignore the fact that all of them are really, really minor and the game is totally all about memes now because they were put in it

Take out the memes and it's still a really poorly written experience full of lazy characters "if I make him say explosions a lot that'll be funny! Also i'll force my agenda in to this character too because that fits his 2d nature" "he's a businessman and he's evil because businessman ok that's enough work for today" "she's a little girl but she also like explosions original do not steal not a copy of anything i've written at all" "ok uhm everyone else is just a murderous asshole that say poop jokes"

It's comedic. They're called caricatures. Do you seriously not get this and think Borderlands is supposed to be a serious game or something?

I'd buy an Uncharted remastered trilogy for PS4 tbh. I still have a PS3 but playing in 1080p 60fps would be nice.
Nobody complained when Deep Silver did this with Metro Redux, though? Is it only okay when it's something you personally like?
Metro Redux was an impressive rework of the games, to be fairly honest. It wasn't just a new set of shaders thrown on the same game. If Gearbox actually brings the same amount of work into a remastered BL1 as Deep Silver did with a remastered Metro (ie new graphics, reworked environments and models, balance changes, more difficulty and gameplay settings) then why not. If it turns out to just be the same game with more shaders thrown in as well as uncapped fps and a resolution boost for new gen consoles then no thanks. Although from a visual standpoint I feel like there really isn't much they could do to actually visually upgrade it other than give it higher res textures which would hardly change a thing considering the art style.

Don't need two studios to slap in some post processing. Also if what they're doing with Homeworld is anything to go by, this might be pretty good.
please god let it end
Do you not get the point of borderlands or something? It's comedic. They're called caricatures. Do you seriously not get this and think Borderlands is supposed to be a serious game or something?
Borderlands 2 tried to have a serious story with these caricatures, and it sucked. Yes, I'm talking about [sp]Roland's death. And Tiny Tina's backstory. And Scooter. About how many times they make you go back to The Dust to make you listen to how stronk and independent Ellie is. Bloodwing's death and Mordecai's dialogue. The Slabs.[/sp] Not counting Jack, the best characters in it were that Dahl Harcheck lady and the soldier woman in Caustic Caverns, because at least they were interesting to follow (aka the writing team didn't have enough time to milk and flanderize the shit out of their traits). Honestly, I really wanted to side with Jack halfway through the fucking game because the characters are the terrible bandits he keeps talking about.
The only thing i do hate about BL2 is the death of Mordecai`s bird. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME, GEARBOX?? WHY.
Am I the only one who hates Borderlands? I tried the first game and I hate it, its so boring with boring characters, boring everything. How come Halo was such a good game compared to this.
Borderlands 1 already has a good graphics back on the XBOX 360 and PS3. There is no point in bringing this old game to the next gen console like the PS4 and XBONE.
There is 3 things I want out of this. Better graphics Better optimization and for god sakes make rocket launchers and grenade actually good. I know when they say "remaster" it Might just be graphics but I hope not. The net play could use a tad bit of tweaking too maybe.

I wouldn't mind a remastered version of the first game. Wouldn't buy it myself but whatever. What I will say as a fan of the series though is that it feels like they are spinning their wheels. The Pre-Sequel was cool but I'd like to see a little more forward movement.
If it's for next-gen consoles it might be a good thing, since (at least on 360) the game ran pretty terribly. Killing some enemies (a worm-type enemy) would result in a massive framerate drop to below 15 fps when its animation played and a mass of particles came out of its eye.
dunno why so many people disagree the halo comparison isn't a good one but bl1 was dull as shit, the atmosphere was so fucking boring and the music was the same shit in nearly every area story was garbage, probably less than 10 relevant dialogue clips in the entire game, most of the story being told through paragraphs of quest acceptance text guns were boring as fuck, all looked the same, not to mention the balance being screwy (though not as bad as level 50 borderlands 2) also it looks like shit, the outline effect is aliased as fuck and the artstyle doesnt really even lend itself well to such an effect, also low res textures out the wazoo
at least it had real revolvers
the visuals, along with the gameplay are what makes borderlands 1 an enjoyable experience even years later after relase. the visuals are what will keep the game from aging too fast.
I'm not arguing against that. My point is that even if they put all of their resources into remastering the game it'll look exactly the fucking same.
