My point is that even if they put all of their resources into remastering the game
it'll look exactly the fucking same.
Borderlands 2 looks significantly better than the first game, so I disagree with this. They can make it look better. Even if it's just higher quality textures. But remasters aren't always visual.
Also I'd like to see what Borderlands looks like with the magic of physically based rendering. With how the art style is now, it's rare to even see a texture with a normal map. This might be asking for too much, as it might be redundant with the art style or even clash with it.
Feels like they're milking the franchise more than anything
Maybe because they are?
After Duke Nukem Forever, I kinda don't want another Duke game.
I only want another Duke game if 3D Realms or Interceptor get ahold of it.
give it to Flying Wild Hog, the guys who remade Shadow Warrior.
[editline]14th December 2014[/editline]
or if a tornado rips through the patent office and gives the rights to bethesda somehow, maybe even machinegames
Maybe because they are?
Three games, a spin-off, and a possible remake?
There's more Half-Life games than there are Borderlands games. And there's a remake of Half-Life that's going to be sold, which Valve will be making money from. I guess they're milking Half-Life, too?
you're forgetting the tiny bits of dlc as well
Because their publisher made them?
They pushed to include more DLC in the season pass. They even got the first level cap increase in there. Also fans of the series wanted more (don't call bullshit on this, just check their forums) and they did. The fifth headhunter pack was basically 100% fanservice.
Don't know about you but I'm loving the shit out of my Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remaster.
Not all remasters are bad....just like not all of them are good.
For the simple reason Kingdom Hearts 2 came out a lot of years ago and it's a game that has aged well. TLOU and GTA V came almost "yesterday" and it's stupid make a remaster.

if you need to play a game with friends for it to be a good game, its a bad game fundamentally UNLESS its built specifically around coop play (spoilers having a revive system and a basic as shit pvp system isn't revolutionary coop mechanics)
ive easily played a lot of borderlands solo and still had fun with it soooo its not really 100% necessary to play borderlands coop for it to be 'good'
what if they added physx
but for amd radeon

its not their fault its the publisher!!!!
Would be proper remastered if they could get Borderlands 2 PhysX effects to consoles.
Not gonna happen. Both the XB1 and PS4 have AMD APUs, while physx is specifically made to only ever run well on Nvidia's CUDA cores.
I don't see what the problem is, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Personally I think this is a great idea, Borderlands 1 doesn't have AA, it doesn't have an FOV slider and the gameplay is really repetitive because of the lack of large weapon variation.
Hell I just want them to fix rocket launchers in the first game since the splash damage is still broken.

Is it likely that they will change or add any of that except AA? No, which is why people are annoyed.

nice job thinking that when we dont even have the slightest bit of info on the remastering, its not even 100% confirmed yet
Just please, please, don't give the PC version BL2's UI. I felt like BL2's UI was a direct downgrade from BL1's.

How old is half-life, again? Sierra was the one who repackaged HL to begin with, they aren't in the picture anymore, and there've been exactly 0 premiumed more betterer edishuns since

Now I know for a fact you're talking out of your ass in pure defensiveness, T2 had no say; GBX dictated the terms of aftermarket production, they only set the price and the stipulation of which platforms those would be available based on how much funding GBX received from them, and they did so after directly consulting GBX. Just because it's your favest omg franchise omg so much gunzzz pew pew doesn't mean it's above criticism.

Remember all the times you got banned for flying off the handle over a game? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Except they do have say since they own the rights to publish the game, and even owns the title "Borderlands"? If Gearbox didn't make the DLC then 2K would just get someone else to do it. Most of the content in the Pre-Sequel was outsourced to other companies like Hidden Path because Gearbox didn't want to work on it (they're already working on a bunch of games, they don't need more), and the primary developer for the game was 2K Australia. It's the publisher + the fans asking for more that caused the high amount of DLC. Just check the Gearbox Forums to verify the fans part - hell there are people complaining that Pre-Sequel has less DLC.
Just because it's your favest omg franchise omg so much gunzzz pew pew doesn't mean it's above criticism.
Lol get over yourself? I never said it was above criticism, I personally have a lot of (actually legitimate) issues with the games like the terrible and inconsistent writing. And the first game's boring gameplay. And half the DLC for the second game.
Just because it's got three mean ol' memes omg cool story bro doesn't mean everyone has to despise it despite being an objectively successful and critically acclaimed game, including being the most successful franchise in 2K history.
They don't have as much rights as you think; it's GBX's IP, period.
I don't despise it at all; but the cash register rings at GBX everytime it's used in any context , and that falls squarely under milking.
legitimate
Do tell, I wasn't aware the ESRB nominated you "sole voice of absolute authority on any opinion related to GBX properties published by other companies".

I was referring to how "milking" isn't actual criticism. Neither is the game having a lot of post-release content. Despite what you might believe, there being a lot of something doesn't mean it's automatically bad - especially when most of that only exists because their fans asked for it. Also:
Lol get over yourself?
Well Gearbox has stated they're not ready/don't want to make a Borderlands 3 at this time (which is why they're making three games that clearly are not Borderlands 3). 2K and followers of the franchise are the ones wanting more, yet Gearbox is getting the heat for milking? How is that even milking when people are asking for it? It's like asking someone to punch you in the face, then getting mad when they do.
But even if they did announce a third game that was better than the second, they'd get even more blame for milking it (which they aren't).
i want more yes
i want a new better game, not a shit ton of small dlcs that dont come included with the season pass
Then bother 2K about it since they control that.
Is it likely that they will change or add any of that except AA? No, which is why people are annoyed.
This is an assumption no matter what you think it is.
If there actually is a remaster in the works, I sure hope they don't touch the writing that much.
I really got sick of the overly forced gay characters in the sequels(especially the ones in pre-sequel).
