I want this game bad.
This game has ridiculous amounts of hype. No way it'll be able to deliver on all of it.

Things are looking rather positive right now, as I've just confirmed by reading the RPS entry. Something cynical in my head tells me tho that someone might be so taken by the good bits it simply takes longer for the bad bits to surface. But we'll see.
This game has ridiculous amounts of hype. No way it'll be able to deliver on all of it.
Whenever a big game I really want, like Dishonored, I watch the initial trailer and nothing else or read anything else, getting hyped for games is retarded because games can never live up to the hype then you get disappointed. But if you go into these big games not knowing much or reading any reviews then it generally makes it a lot better since you have nothing else to go by.

Go to /v/ and it's all >4 >4 >4 Apparently there was a stream and the game is 4 hours long if you shoot everything in the dick on easy. /v/ though so take it with a grain of salt.

Going by that they assume it's about four hours for a skilled player, but who knows. I wouldn't bet on more than 7 hours per playthrough.
snip useless post

I didn't see the stream and I doubt may of the people spamming 4 HOURS have either since i'm seeing a fuckload of different times including 6 hours and two 4 hour sessions. It's funny how they say /vg/ is a bunch of circlejerking when /v/ is full of it, just hating games instead of liking them. Also damn regional release dates, having to wait until friday to play is annoying as hell, especially when your retail order turns up a day or two early but get cockblocked by Steamworks
You can already play through Half Life in 4 hours if you rush through it. It could depend on how you play it. Pretty sure i will play everything in stealth + i always love to scout the entire level for shit, just by doing that you multiply the hours you will spend in it :v:
You can play through half life in 20 minutes if you want :v:
Hm yeah i guess you could, but still i think it depends on how you play a game the most. Took me ages to finish Half Life 2 because i kept walking back since i always thought that here and there that there might be a gap where i could go in or something
You can finish the game fast, but you will not enjoy if you do so.
From what I've heard with this game, you're pretty much meant to do multiple playthroughs anyways.
From what I've heard with this game, you're pretty much meant to do multiple playthroughs anyways.
Bad excuse if the game is really short.
Bad excuse if the game is really short.
A game doesn't need big and long levels to be conciderd that the game itself is really long. If you can redo a medium sized map 5x and every time you play it you have the ability to completely do it differently through different paths and styles of playing (Stealth/action) then yeah.. It would be a long game.
Bad excuse if the game is really short.
When did short games become a bad thing? I would happily play a game that is just half a hour with a great and well made story than one that is 120 hours long and is repetitive as shit and has a replayability of a brick.

Those guys hate everything and pounce on the tiniest fault like a hungry cougar.
i feel like i'm reading someone's mental breakdown
According to Julien Roby (Executive Producer) the playtesters needed aprox. 15 hours with focusing on the main story. http://www.ausgamers.com/features/read/3243770

http://www.ausgamers.com/features/read/3243770
Always take gameplay time with a grain of salt, especially if it's coming from the developers. I mean, there was that whole Skyrim fiasco where one of the game devs beat it in 30 minutes. And numerous developers like to overstate their game length, I remember a few games like this. But you can always get more time if you like to search around and replay of course.
On Metacritics Dishonored has the average score of 90 out of 13 review sites. Thats pretty damn good. GameInformer: Replay: Moderately High Edge Online: "The key is a robust and logical AI system that’s ripe for exploitation, giving you not only a sense of power but also the chance for multiple ‘what if’ replays." GamePlanet:

[h=6]Downs:[/h] Replayable, but probably only once. Some dull exposition delivery.

However: http://playeressence.com/dishonored-reviews-suggests-short-game/ But even this states its 20+ hours long instead of 4 hours people are saying
But Dishonored isn't even an RPG. Other that it still looks fantastic and if I had the money to blow on games right now I would get it in a heart beat.
Morrowind can be beaten in 9 minutes. How fast you can finish a game has no bearing on how fast you will finish it, how much enjoyment you get, or how much you can go back to it. /v/ are just being fucking retards as always.

If you were to play the game normally, it would take a lot longer than that.
