Goddammit, the roman numeral placement in the title makes my OCD senses tingle.
Because it is both incredibly ridiculous and entirely unrelated to anything they had established previously.
I'm curious to know where you live. How is it unrelated? After the point in history where Revelations takes place, the colonization of the United States and its rise is pretty much the center of history. Also, the first game takes place in the 12th century. The second takes place in the 15th/16th century. This game taking place in the 18th century makes total sense, and in that time America was in the spotlight. Either you lack knowledge of history or you're extremely bias.
I would like to see how in one game, they're going to solve the problem of the Templars and Warren Vidic and the Master Templars being sent after the team.
Pretty sure the Revolutionaries are going to be the villains in this one. Why? Because in the lore America is a totally Mason (Templar) government, founded by Masons (Templars) and ruled by Masons (Templars). As well, if the protag is Native American as some have said, you might very well be working with the British since most Native Americans allied with the British. So there's a fair chance that, unless they retcon it, you will be aiding the British. Unless they have you fighting with the Americans only to find the ever so shocking twist that the American leaders are Templars. (Most likely the latter now that I see the cover has you killing a Brit)
well they pretty much where anyway; The founding fathers struggle wasn't just about independence but about empowering an elite ruling class of Americans at home. The founding fathers were wealthy smugglers and traders who merely used the revolution to further their own grip on power. Though the Revolution represented a real change in the social life of America, in favor of more equality, more economic opportunity for ordinary people and was simply a conservative reaction to protect American rights and property from Parliament with greater individual autonomy. Though the actual whole thing you can bet on was really about economics. The majority of the war most of the colonialists were pro British, until rebels started hanging and killing anyone who publicly stated this, they also went on new spin propaganda about British soldiers killing babies and raping civilians.
American Revolution? I think it needs to be said, FUCK YES!
This is fucking awesome actually. I might actually play this one.

It was in no way about empowering the ruling classes, if that were the case then why would any kind of system of elections and voting have arisen? George Washington could have become a king, but instead he became a President. Many of the most famous revolutionaries were radically liberal for the time as well. As well, most historians estimate 15 to 20 percent of the colonists as loyalists, far from a majority. Everything else you said, while grammatically garbled, is more or less correct.
There are so many awesome eras an Assassin's Creed could be set in... This is one of them.
Only on facepunch will you see children screaming over a region a game is placed in. [editline]1st March 2012[/editline] I'm pretty sure they'll have anyone as fair game in this. I mean you're almost certainly a Native American (You use a Tomahawk for christ sakes) and you're shown killing a Brit. Well that's all fine and dandy, but you better be able to kill the dudes who stole your land too!
I would like already!
I like Victorian London and American Revolution, any game location can be good if Ubisoft makes it right, and so far they have made it really good.
The founding fathers struggle wasn't just about independence but about empowering an elite ruling class of Americans at home.
lol Shay's Rebellion never happened I guess
I wonder if i could assassinate the 3 corrupted judges that went to salem.....
I wanna know who the enemies are going to be in this one... Aren't Freemasons essentially templars?
uh what no that's not at all what freemasons are
its sad you still believe in that.
I haven't heard any proof that says it wasn't for independence, do you mind showing us where you found this out? And you're use of the word "sad" just asserts your position as some sort of elitist that will never listen to others and thinks he and nobody else is right.
"But teacher told me...."
Thread Music: Can't wait.
"But teacher told me...."
"But the internet told me..."
Don't you find a white robe man in a 17th century America a bit well. Uh out of place?
Watch, the game will end with fireworks and flag waving all over the city while whoever that jackass assassin is goes "Long live the U.S. of A." as bald eagles carve Mount Rushmore with their beaks.
please move to france then america wont mind
So wait, if these are Desmond's ancestors, does that mean that he's Arabic/Italian/Native American?
Well, there was that Darkest of Days game where at one point you time travel to the Civil War era. It's pretty fun, might be worth the $20 if you like time travel and such.
I bought that on sale for ten bucks and couldn't get it to run. It always crashed the moment I tried to actually get into any of the action.
I don't get what is wrong with the DRM I have never had a single problem with it with my completely awful internet that goes out at random.
It's my computer, it's my money, it's my rules. I flat refuse to be treated like a goddamn criminal because I had the nerve to actually BUY my fucking games, all while the pirates get away with BETTER VERSIONS! DRM is just a kick in the balls to any self-respecting PC gamer, and Ubisoft uses a spiked fucking steel boot to do the kicking. If that's how they're going to treat their paying customers I won't be a paying customer, and if that means missing out on what I understand to be a bunch of rather good games, then I miss out on a bunch of rather good games. I'm not spineless enough to bend over for the big DRM cock because of the whinging of a few execs who make more in three months than I'll make in the next fifteen years. I still stand up for my right to do with my own purchased property as I see fit, and that includes installing my games on as many computers as I want, running then whenever I want, installing mods as I see fit, even reselling them when I'm done with them. 'Bout the only thing I won't do is seed them to a torrent site, and that's only because it's against the law to do so, in the same way it's against the law for me to help myself to a Lamborghini.
So wait, if these are Desmond's ancestors, does that mean that he's Arabic/Italian/Native American?
in the end it turns out he's a shapeshifting alien and all of those DNA memories are actually HIMSELF because he lives forever
This sounds pretty badass to me. Definitely looking forward to it. AC is the only series from Ubi that gets money from me.
I wonder how it will play out considering the natives and slaves joined with the British
AssCreed 4 will take place during the U.S. Civil War. AssCreed 5 will take place during World War I. AssCreed 6 will take place during World War II. AssCreed 7 will take place during Vietnam. AssCreed's 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 will take place in the future during made up wars between the U.S., China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea because Ubishit will have run out of iconic events dumbass Americans that make up their fanbase can easily recognize. Calling all of it right now. On topic, I would like the opportunty to be able to assasinate George Washington. Or at least Alexander Hamilton, that faggot. :v:
I'm looking forward to the brand new DRM package..

Are people already forgetting the core story of the series or what?
