A new Deus Ex isn't obvious as a joke, since it's something thousands of people would be really excited for, and they put the news out one day too early.

They didn't say anything about 8-bit, or co-op, or anything other than "new Deus Ex game to be announced tomorrow". Before then, they had the trademark, but that's excusable.

Its your fault if you got ultra-hyped, not theirs.

They had plans for it, then they decided against them, so they used it for their prank. Hopefully there's a new Deus Ex coming out, but they haven't said anything yet that wasn't a total lie.
