Please tell me we can turn that off?
It just seems to be some gimmicky bloatware that's not useful, just like the chunky buttons on Windows 7 which I turned off within 5 minutes.
I'd hardly call the superbar's buttons "gimmicky bloatware". I find it much easier to use than the small Win9x style taskbar.
This interface is completely useful for tablets, I find it much more intuitive than iOS or Android. For a desktop that's not touch enabled, yes, it's completely useless.

Why? Windows 7's taskbar is awesome.
Well, goodbye powerusers.

No it isn't.
It doesn't tell you what individual programs are, it just shows you an icon, so then you have to click on the icon and then click on the sub program you wanted.
I have a large monitor so I don't need to tightly pack everything, sure the chunky buttons on Windows 7 would be useful for smaller screens, but not for a big one.

Or you could just hover over it. You should know what the program is by the icon, anyways.
I'll get this. I need to upgrade from Vista.

Unless you're using the same icon for every program i don't see it being an issue.
I expected screenies.
I won't make any comment on this right now. I'll just sit back and wait what comes out of this. Anyways I'll probably stick with Windows 7 for a while since it works really great.

No, it's when I've got 4 Google Chrome windows open, or 3 different Steam things such as the Chat, the Friends list and Steam itself.
And why should I have to move my mouse all the way down over the icon to see what it is? Surely it'd be easier to glance down and see what's written there without having to move the mouse?

Right-click Windows start-menu icon on taskbar. Click Properties. Under Taskbar Buttons pull-down list in the Taskbar tab select "Never combine". You're welcome. :3
I hate the windows 7 task bar, I have it exactly like I had it on XP except now I can only fit 2 sysicons instead of 3 per column (I use a double sized task bar) because of the pointless padding.
I am completely satisfied with Windows 7 until the day that I may need to upgrade to a better window disk or future OS to get up to date with video games. So most likely I won't be getting windows 8 unless windows 7 becomes incompatible with future video games like XP state.
Fuck windows 8 windows 7 is perfectly fine and they still have much they can broaden upon with win7
Windows 8 is not a completely new OS. It's a mere improvement onto Windows 7. Their new interface allows it to be used on tablets much easier. It's simply a major overhaul of Windows 7.

Why would you have 4 Google Chrome windows open? That's what tabs are for, silly.
Anybody else notice this?

Look at the task bar.

Uh... That's how the Windows 7 taskbar looks on standard.

Is it just me who's never had a problem with Windows Vista?
Is it just me who's never had a problem with Windows Vista?
Nope. I never had a problem with it either.
People used it when it was fresh and completely lacking in support and riddled with faults and then they never changed their mind about it, even when it was fixed up.
Still happy with Vista.
Been using xp since 2003 , not gonna stop now

Ok, so because you've had it for so long you're not going to change?
Great mindset getting stuck in the past with obsolete shit because "I DON WAN CHANGEZ!"
