20 hours and i've got two Mom kills, of which none show up in my statistics.Normally i'd bitch about bugs, but with this game... Challenge fucking accepted asshole. We used to stack games like you yay high (gestures at chest height) in Korea and use you for sandbags!
Remember that you have to kill Mom's heart to make it count as a Mom kill.
I wonder if this is going to be the original darker, not cartoony version that he talked about in an interview a while ago
Hate to break it to you but the art design is being totally redone, in a 16 bit style.
Meh, there are plenty of 16 bit games that manage to look creepy as hell

Never mind the stupid little fight thing going on in the foreground (I just pulled this from tvtropes because its one 16 bit thing that sticks out in my mind right away), check out the background.
If they do that then I'm fine with a 16 bit style.
I dont get the 16 bit style, thats dumb, binding of isaac had a great art style not needing to be 16 bit.
Nothing's been announced about it being 16-bit. Edmund said he's doing all the new art in the style of the current game, and then the team that'll be developing the remake can do what they want, but he has final say in how things look. Check his Formspring for info on it.
I can't belive we're disgussing the importance of the visuals on a 2d Roguelike....

I can. Edmund's style is awesome.
I spent like fucking $2 on this and I got about 16 hours out of it.
People are acting like this is a big deal that you have to now spend probably another $2 for it.
Ill gladly pay $5 for it to not ever be on flash again and Co-op sounds amazing.
I spent 7$ on total for the game and DLC, and I've gotten over 120 hours of gameplay and i'm still excited to play it
Should I still play the original before the new version, or wait?
Should I still play the original before the new version, or wait?
Considering the new one won't be coming until late 2013 at the earliest, get the old one with the DLC right away.
You guys need to learn the difference between remake and rerelease. This is going to be hugely different, it's even gonna have coop.
To be fair, most remakes are just rereleases with maybe a sliver of new content and "improved" graphics that aren't really any better than the originals.
I don't mind working with flash but jesus it's limited
pretty excited

All the "remakes" that started out marketed as such soon had to change to "remasters" but even then, we all saw through it and they had to go with "HD pack" since all they ever did was increase resolution. There haven't really been many remakes in games, really. even fewer faithful remakes. I think the only one i know of is Twin Snakes. The rest are just cons.
I have almost 100 hours on TBoI. Totally buying this.
I hope Rockcock64 makes a video about how terrible this is when it comes out, those are always good fun.
new team
Which means the old creators won't be profiting from this. Why would they do it?
It's a shame the saves won't carry over, but I'm happy to put another 150+ hours into the new version.

I like it when he actually points out the terrible things in overrated games like D3, minecraft and fez, not games that are trying to please it's customers instead of making money.
:~)

Edmund is still part of the team, he just won't be actively developing it. I don't know if Florian Himsl or Danny B. are gonna be a part of it though, but I hope at least Danny will, because his music is phenomenal.
Hope this gets both local and online co-op. I myself don't have anyone to play with locally so I hope it's online as well.

So far Edmund's only said local co-op.
