Jesus guys you can't demand a discount on the sheer fact you bought Arma:CO for DayZ, that's retarded.
A discount would be nice I suppose, but still.
and logic dictates that they should treat this golden goose as a Major project and not an indie game.
No, because ARMA have been making them money since when-did-Operation-Flashpoint-come-out and DayZ hasn't.
EDIT: Nobody is going to trade stable income for a most likely passing trend.
AI's fear for their lives too much, if the tank tracks get blown they all jump out and start screaming.

Mods.

There is a mod that makes AI's less fearfull?
I mean really if you bought ARMA 2/CO for only the sole purpose of playing Day Z that's pretty fucking stupid considering the base game of ARMA 2/CO is leagues better than Day Z.
Besides, have any of you even played some of the other stuff that's around in that game.
Takistan Life springs to mind.
Other than that, I kind of feel sore about it, but then again highly popular mods tend to make the player aware of how great the base game is as well after some time.

AI doesn't ever run under normal situation, unless they're scripted to but one of the COSLX's addons makes them stay inside the vehicle if it's only mildly damaged.
EDIT: Hmm, or was it ACE?

Takistan life was great fun until DayZ flooded the game with skiddies.
Oh no I paid 30 bucks for a game I didn't want to play a mod that won't be supported forever!! :(
People who bought ARMA 2:CO and have downloaded and played DayZ better get a big fucking discount.
I bought original Half Life for Natural Selection.
I better get a big fucking discount on NS2
That doesn't work that way
Takistan life was great fun until DayZ flooded the game with skiddies.
It be interesting to see the transition from Built-in Mod to Standalone.
That's all I can say.
Glad I'm not one of the idiots who bought a game I wasn't interested in to play a single mod.
I for one am pretty pleased for the extra money they're getting for the developement of Arma 3.
I for one am pretty pleased for the extra money they're getting for the developement of Arma 3.
Lets hope this time it gets something approximating a well done UI.
There is a mod that makes AI's less fearfull?
They get out when the tank has taken enough damage to be considered inoperable, this could be anything from the main gun being destroyed to the tank being immobile because the treads are busted. The screaming part is probably them being wounded.
The jumping out isnt always logical but i guess its meant to be because the next direct hit to the tank would probably finish it off.

Have you seen any ARMA 3 videos? Their GUI Artist have learned that he can use more than one color now!
I don't know if they should do this
A lot of people. Several hundred thousand at least, already forked out the money for Arma2/Combined Ops to play DayZ...
Should just leave it as a mod/official game type
No....because now they have ARMA2 in their library, and it was a free mod. It's literally impossible for them to screw you over on that one
Have you seen any ARMA 3 videos? Their GUI Artist have learned that he can use more than one color now!
Yes, he added one more color! :v:
Honestly if its going to go standalone id rather play it standalone other than as a mod.
Im still interested in getting Arma 2, but maybe ill pass up the Day Z mod version unless something affects the development of the standalone version.
To those crying about buying Arma 2 for this, you bought Arma 2 and not DayZ so you're not entitled to any sort of discount.
Stop crying about how you bought a game for a mod. Arma 2 is much better than a lot of shooters anyways, try to play it without playing DayZ, I noticed most of the people who bought it for DayZ won't even touch the regular version.
Not really, Arma 2 is a clunky mess , I mean yeah the weapons are nicely done but the way aiming and movement was done is just terrible.
For fucks sake Quake 2 has more fluid movement than Arma 2 and it's almost 15 years old.
Hi! What a coincidence. I've got a hoverboard instead of my legs in real life too!
Moving around in real life isn't as awkward as it is in Arma 2, please try again.
Fortunately we don't need to control ourselves in real life with keyboard and mice.
After getting used to Arma 2's movement it's not bad at all - it suits what the game is trying to achieve. The only problem I still have with Arma 2's movement is with small indoor spaces but even then you I just walk and I'd be fine.

For how many minutes have you played ARMA? Five?

How long did you play Arma 2 for? Since I been playing for 2 years, yes at first it seems clunky, but it's just that the controls are different than most games, and it makes sense for how the game plays.
After getting used to Arma 2's movement it's not bad at all - it suits what the game is trying to achieve. The only problem I still have with Arma 2's movement is with small indoor spaces but even then you can just walk and I'd be fine.
Yeh, running through the doors is the only real issue with ARMA movements, while you're in first person, because unlike the real life, you don't have any kind of kinesthetic sense and thus you have hard time figuring out how your in-game body is actually positioned in relation to the door.
EDIT: There's also a solution to that. Mods.
Once you play arma for x amount of time you get used to everything that's bad and you start to only see the good parts.
Once you play arma for x amount of time you get used to everything that's bad and you start to only see the good parts.
The movement system isn't bad, really, it's just different and takes time to get used to.
For someone who haven't played ARMA before it's like he's been only playing shooters his whole life and then he was suddenly asked to play a flight sim.
People who bought ARMA 2:CO and have downloaded and played DayZ better get a big fucking discount.
He doesn't owe you anything.
Go play some ARMA II. It's pretty good.
Already being done by WarZ. The game has been in dev for 2 years now
Cool. Don't care. Gimme DayZ.
