It's 21 bucks in the rest of the world :(
28€ here, aka. 37 USD.
Can't download the game I bought.
Thanks Steam.
Played a bit, it's basically good. Not as great as I was hoping, though. The atmosphere and environments are incredible, but the combat completely ruins the "feeling" of the game... one moment you're walking through an eerily quiet forest, and the next "SHOOT THEM ALL! YEAHHHH"
Also, for being a supposedly acclaimed writer, all those manuscript pages you find make Alan seem more like Max Payne's long-lost brother, and I mean that in the worst way possible. Someone needs to tell him shitty metaphors don't constitute good writing.
Isn't that manuscript you find in Alan's apartment a monologue straight from Max Payne? Or at least very close to one. It definitely feels like one.

even the voice that's narrating is different I think

Yeah it is.
I think I'm going to pass, and this is why: The feature list.
Something must be wrong if all that are Enhancements and Features. Those are standard in today's fare. It just reeks of shoddy console port. I may rent it for Xbox though
I can't believe someone actually reads those
I just started Episode 2 now. Good fun
Just solved it. One of the best games I have played since... well, quite a lot of time.
Seriously this might be one of the funnies things I've seen in a game:
MINOR SPOILERS:

You might not get it if you haven't played the game but oh man did I laugh.
I just finished it too. And I must say that was one of the most awesome games I've ever played, the gameplay was average but I can't think of any game that has a more well written and engaging story. And IMO that alone easily makes up for the first.
I've got no frikkin' idea what this is but scanning the QR code ingame in the clinic sends you here:

Alan's books are supposed to basically be about Max Payne, including those pages and they're narrated by Max Payne's voice actor too. He also voices another character in the game.
Sam Lake was the main writer for Alan Wake and Max Payne.
During the flashback, it's set in a snowstorm in New York. Max Payne also takes place in a New York snowstorm.
There are also a duel golden berettas trophy on one of the shelves in Alan's apartment.
I got the sense in the driving bits were supposed to be much more than they were. I couldn't shake the feeling that some of those levels were for the original open world game.
God I've never hated not having money as much as I do now. I was so excited for this game back when it was coming out for the 360, but never got to play it.
Now it's here and I still can't play it :C

Best. Battle music. Ever.
If you haven't played the game I'd suggest not listening to it. It doesn't spoil anything per se, but it might ruin the awesomeness of the segment of the game when you get to it.
That said, amazing game, if I had the cash on hand I'd buy it right now.
Sweet jegus that is awesome

Fun fact, one of the TVs you run into later in the game plays a song by the same band under a different name.
Namely this one.

cant afford it :c
Okay, I'm buying it because you guys say it's awesome. No idea what to expect.
Gotta love when you're out of everything, attempt to run away, see a safe haven, "sweet lord jesus", approach it, the generator shuts down and you die.
I love this game.

Fighting taken in that warehouse while the radio plays that song was so awesome.

QRcode: Huh. Turns out this isn't too bad even if you're not sitting on a couch when you play it. Who knew!
I'm just about to play the 4th act.
Anyone wondering if it's worth a purchase...the answer is yes, even if you have strict standards. This game is a technical achievement and anyone who misses it will kick themselves in much the way they should for having missed such a wonderful experience.
I remember this from E3 2006, they had gameplay and tech demos there.
Only half a decade later it's on PC
i love this game
is american nightmare gonna come to pc?
