Hey, it worked for Eddie Murphy, did it not?
With a 21% on Rotten tomatoes, Harlem Nights was mostly vulgar comedy, and suffered for it.
Man it's really shitty that a bunch of news sites just labeled this guy as crazy and ignored everything else. It's pretty fucked up since people who are depressed aren't just killers by default, this person's views are just really fucked.

Yeah, Harlem Nights is really the gem in the crown of Eddie Murphy's carrier. Meanwhile Raw and Delirious are just foot notes.

Eddie Murphy has wit to back up any vulgarity he uses. However, "Im going to insert my phallic manhood in your unsuspecting rectum, to engage in sodomy of an unconsenting nature!" is just shock value.

You're justifying Eddie's commedy because it's funny. Oh the irony.

I don't find it funny. But it's clever. He has a talent for delivery and he knows how to speak. You don't.
Rape jokes have no reason to exist. I doubt even Eddie Murphy ever made one on stage. No matter how well done or popular they are, that doesn't make them okay.
Because I want to see if you have a point about "why I should care".
I am not going to convince you to care because i don't care either. Why would i bother if your already biased and stuck in a mindset?
I am done with this thread, im going to end up being upset by anything else you have to say.
On a final note.
I can be silly and i have places and times where that is appropriate (oify) but im tolerant to know when and where to do it.
If you don't please would you kindly go somewhere else. Talk to your friends about your "Amazing" Jokes and what not but this is a public forum.
This thread really has brought some real Dickheads out of FP.
i still wanna know how old you are
no matter how old he is he still clearly has some growing up to do
Oh look another unasked for thing.
A maniac in an unstable mental state kills a bunch of people (including women) and feminists/male-ists(is that a word?) use it as another excuse to start rambling...
He was a fucking lunatic that didn't get stopped in time. He is not the face of a generation or a group of people. He was just a lunatic.
there's no evidence he was though. he even went to a psychiatrist for a while.

Obviously it didn't fucking work.
is this the part of the thread to where we do the ad hominems?

I never advocate in favor of rape jokes. I never say "Ya'll must do some rape jokes". All I said was if you're not gonna do a rape joke because someone might get offended, you have to think that your jokes might offend other people and ponder if it's ok to make fun of them just because YOU don't consider their problems big enough.

But it's ok to joke about gays, whites, jews, blacks and so forth, right?
Once again:
there is a difference between someone being offended and someone having a flashback to a traumatic moment or being encouraged to hurt others.

Are jokes about murder and discrimination also wrong and never funny now too?
Are jokes about murder and discrimination also wrong and never funny now too?
Depends on how you do them. If you make mockery of the murderers/bigots it's funny. Humor has to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable to be funny; otherwise it's being a bullying hack.

Rape jokes to criticize some of societies ridiculous views on rape and such. George Carlin, Eddie Murphy, etc.
They actually do make a commentary with these jokes. They don't just joke about the misfortunes of random rape victims.

Well they're doin it right then.
Are jokes about murder and discrimination also wrong and never funny now too?
Jokes that involve killing don't usually make the murder the punchline, nor do they make it seem normal.
And there's a reason people don't tell racist jokes in public that often. Sure, comics will make jokes about race, but it will generally be tongue in cheek and about all races, not just "man black people are so stupid".

There are exceptions to the "don't joke about rape" rule, just like there are exceptions to everything.
here have a guide
It's just better to say "don't make jokes about rape" than to say "most jokes about rape are bad, but some are okay", because with the latter the person hearing the advice will almost certainly think "well I can make a good rape joke!" and make a bad rape joke.
Sort of similar to how Chris Rock regrets making that "difference between a black person and a nigga" joke, because a bunch of morons thought that meant they had free reign to say "nigger" even if they weren't black.

This fucking annoys me - fair enough, women experience sexism a lot more than men, I accept that, but to make a website about sexism specifically targeted at women doesn't make sense. If we're aiming for a fair and equal society please stop focusing on one fucking half, otherwise I will refuse to take anything about it seriously and will view it as soccer moms gathering for their local "We Hate All Men" meeting.

If they make a bad rape joke we call them out for being a shitty comedian. Kind of like how Tosh went.
Someone who, of course, thinks rape is bad but who always has to chime in with "well maybe the woman shouldn't have dressed like that/gotten drunk/gone out alone at night" is playing a part in a culture which takes guilt away from rapists.
It's always good to prevent something bad like rape from happening, but a lot of the precautions people say you should do (such as not getting drunk or not dressing in a sexually appealing way) are over the top. Sure that could help, but precautions should not affect how much fun you have. Sensible precautions would be to get a lift home instead of walking, and having someone you trust with you while you're drunk at a party.
But regardless of that it isn't the victims responsibility to take precautions, and people shouldn't say it was their fault for not doing x, y and z to prevent it.
This thread is a disaster and some of its posts make me feel unsafe.

Can someone give me some advice on how to avoid rape?
Can someone give me some advice on how to avoid rape?
Don't exist
The family of the murderer should be shot.
Access to firearms is directly responsible for shootings, regardless if the person was mentally ill or not.
Wow, I have to hand it to you. This is a masterful fucking post. Someone had a sentiment that virtually everyone agreed with, that health care in America is lacking, especially regarding mental health. You saw this and said "Let's fuck up this little peace train," so you dropped your post. Most people were happy before your post, and you're not actually participating in the conversation, so I'm totally convinced that you blurted out "GUNS," just to get a rise out of people, which it did. Then you got the fuck out of blast radius. And it helped stretch the argument for quite a few pages. Hats off to you!

I think he was responding to the picture that he quoted.

Yeah, he just dropped this really obvious tautology and left, and it helped along this crazy long argument. It's frankly fucking beautiful. He didn't even have to say the words "Gun Control," he stated the equivalent of "Well if the world didn't have any cheese, nobody would be eating cheese!" and that was enough to get the ball rolling.

"This discussion on sexism and mental health is now about guns!" -NoDachi, 2014.
i don't have that much of a problem with feminists, they can believe what they want, but they just act like obnoxious assholes most of the time. they never really talk about anything else, i've never seen a feminist give a fuck about LGBT rights, even the more rational feminists. they just tend to act like feminism is the only issue and lgbt stuff doesn't matter, civil rights doesn't matter, and only feminism matters. feminism is on the backburner compared to lgbt rights. that, and they have a hard time respecting (not agreeing with) anyone's opinion that's slightly different, and they just laugh at people and call them assholes instead of trying to be friendly and pointing them in the right direction.

I have no idea what you're talking about, someone else brought up guns.

If you haven't seen a feminist give a fuck about LGBT rights then you're obviously just incredibly ignorant, many feminists are LGBT people and the feminist movements of the 70's often joined up with the post-Stonewall Riots LGBT activists.
