Animal Crossing.
Metal Gear Solid 4
That entire game was a spectacular display of motion capture and attention to detail. Seriously. I used to obsess about Infinity Ward's use of motion capture until I played this game.
The best ending I've experienced so far was Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood's.
AGREED
hl2, I loved that ending with gman.
This is really tough, i don't think i have a favorite, i have ones that i loved though. Right up there contending with my favorite though would have to be the ending to MAFIA: The City Of Lost Heaven Skip to 2:20 for the WHOLE ENDING with the full epilouge, or skip to 6:36 for the ending cinematic which is the most invoking. In Mafia 2 you get to play that scene as the hitmen Skip to 3:45 I had so much difficulty doing this mission in mafia 2 because tommy angelo was my favorite game character or all time...and i had to kill him.
They were all dead. The final gunshot was like an exclamation point to everything that had happened. I released my finger from the trigger. And then it was over...
Dark Void
... both? There were 7 endings.
Both "real" endings. Obviously if you go to the wish granter you can have some fun getting crushed to death by "gold" but if you actually went past that point there's only two endings. Going with the C-consciousness or getting rid of them.
Portal 2.
Mother 3, no crying until the end. SPOILERS [sp]Claus fired an intense bolt of lightning! Lucas's Franklin Badge reflected the lightning back! Claus took mortal damage![/sp] I mean, come oon.
Limbo No, but seriously I can't think of a good game ending.
Mass Effect 2's leadup to the ending was awesome. Intense stuff.
Grand Theft Auto endings always seem to be really satisfying. Maybe its just well written or maybe its the fact that I've played the game for hundreds of hours before beating it and it just feels good to see it come to an end. Oh and Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar Games tend to have great endings.
The good ending to Half-Life where Gman sends you to fight an entire army of grunts with your bare hands.
The good ending to Half-Life where Gman sends you to fight an entire army of grunts with your bare hands.
Curse you, I was just about to post Half Life's ending! I really love Gman's speech in that sequence. Very memorable.
Half Life 2 Infamous and Infamous 2 Both Uncharted 1 and 2
I'd have to say Portal 2 honestly. I was thinking it was just because I was hyped up over the game but honestly I just loved it. The first game I've played where a company doesn't leave room for a possible sequel. Valve knows what they are doing and know when to kill a series before they milk too much out of it *COUGH Modern Warfare going on its third instalment*
Every game that has a 'true' hidden ending which you have to work for. Cave Story comes to mind.
That entire game was a spectacular display of motion capture and attention to detail. Seriously. I used to obsess about Infinity Ward's use of motion capture until I played this game.
I like to go back and replay the intro of MGS4. Just the intro, the first fifteen to thirty minutes. That opening battle between the PMC's and the militia. I do it all for the animations. So. Fucking. Gorgeous.
Metal Gear Solid 3 had one of the best endings I have ever come across (cant wait for the HD version to come). Portal 2 had a good ending too.
I liked it :saddowns:
Okay I can understand liking the game, but the ending? Are you kidding me? It's the worst kind of a cliffhanger
The ending cinematic to Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is probably one of my favorite endings in a video game.
Has to be Portal 2. I cried at the end and it doesn't make me any less of a man, though, I cried again when I watched the ending on YouTube. OK, maybe crying twice makes me less of a man. I finished Portal 2 like three times, and still cried watching YouTube. It's just amazingly beautiful in every awesome, epic way possible.
OK, never mind. This is. [editline]edit[/editline] Changed my mind. I love Portal too much.
I really liked Amnesia: The Dark Descent's ending where you [sp]throw Agrippa's head into the portal[/sp]. Such a beautiful and satisfying feel of carrying out a promise, even if it results in sacrifice. What really got me about it though was the part of the ending where [sp]you walk towards the light, through the void while Agrippa says that you'll "be fine"[/sp]. The gameplay is so tense but this just contrasts perfectly with it, you feel at peace and don't regret the decision you made at the end of the game. It's a cliff hanger but you feel satisfied, and in my opinion the best video game ending ever.
Metal Gear Solid 4's, despite the whole story being batshit insane, the ending just felt perfect and ended the game series I grew up with very well.
Sorry, but MGS3's ending was the best. It was also the best game in the series.
Borderlands *cough*
I wouldn't have minded the ending if there'd actually been some loot, all I got was like 20 dollars and a pistol. Jeez, that's the whole point of killing things.
I quite enjoyed the ending to freelancer since it was such a large lead up and the fact you go to do whatever you wanted at the end.
Deadly Premonition.
Saints Row 2 Clearly.
I liked the ending of the Half-Life 2 series. ...
