If I didn't want my ending spoiled for a game I'm playing, I would stay clear of a thread solely devoted to the ending of said game.
The thread is for an article about people demanding a new ending not "talk about the ending".
"Its just a game" What would people say if this happened to half-life series?
They'd say it was the best thing ever and that Valve should win some kind of new prize for the best developer ever.
"If I wanted to get my soul crushed, I could just turn on the TV and put the news on."
lmfao.
They'd say it was the best thing ever and that Valve should win some kind of new prize for the best developer ever.
...I don't think so.

That's just naive...
If you really don't want it spoiled for you you won't go to a thread discussing people wanting a new ending. God forbid you might find out why they want it.
I think the fact this has now become national news hints at the fact that people might be over reacting.
or y'know... maybe its the fact that quite a lot of people find that they do not like it.

It's not naive at all. It's called common courtesy.
I've read a buttload of articles about this whole debacle and up until this point I had no idea what the ending was.

Boohoo, it is their game their choice.

So I guess George Lucas going back and changing the original Star Wars movies was be absolutely fine because, well, his movies his choice. And on that logic, it would also be fine if he just changed every character to Jar Jar Binks and set out to destroy every past copy of the movie because it's his movie, and anyone who would complain about that would just be entitled little babies.

No, common courtesy is not throwing a hissy fit when you go into a thread about a game's ending when, to your surprise, people are talking about the ending.
Boohoo, it is their game their choice.
Yeah? And they broke every promise they made about the ending, ever. But it's okay because as their market we have no say in what they do, because they don't want our money, right?

They don't care because they already have your money. Maybe you people will learn a lesson and stop with the pre-ordering/release date buying. Had you of waited you wouldn't have dropped $60 on something you are so disappointed in.

The main thing that annoys me is that the relays get blown up no matter what. I'd never allow that to happen, were I Shepard.

I'm not a fan of Lucas' changes either, but it is his franchise and he can do whatever he wants with it. People didn't realize this, and now the chance of him ever doing anything good again is none because he's decided to quit with the movie making because of all the entitlement in the industry.
As Sgt-NiallR posted: not only is the ending just downright bad, it's also extremely lazy. They just took 1 ending and applied colour filters to make different ones.
Now that's just untrue. They're not significantly different but there are obvious little differences as to what happens in each cutscene. It doesn't absolve them from being lazy but don't just say that they only changed the colors.

I didn't buy Mass Effect because I had a feeling this would happen. Unless they want to fall facefirst on their next game release, they should listen to their market, because as far as I'm concerned Bioware is never getting a glimpse of my money ever again.

How daft can you possibly be...
The entire series up to the last ten minutes of part three were amazing. It wasn't expected that they would bollocks the ending as they did.

Nope, you don't get to not be a fan of Lucas' changes, you have no right to dislike his decisions at all. v:v:v

I guess its either join the anti-Bioware-entitlement-circlejerk or gtfo.

Good job on reading comprehension yourself.
The argument against this sensationalism shouldn't be that Bioware is in the right and that people disappointed with the ending are in the wrong, because that's simply not true. The point is that Bioware made a promise and threw it out the window while keeping their fans' money. The argument against the sensationalism is that if Bioware DOES change the ending, it would set a dangerous precedent that would deem it okay to release a game with a terribly executed story only to patch it later, in a long line of cases where games are being released less and less finished by the year. The fans being pissed is a totally understandable situation, but they're blowing it out of proportion and most importantly, Bioware is egging them on.

I'm disappointed in the ending. The rest of the game is still 9/10 in my book.
So yeah, I don't mind having spent 60 bucks on it. I only wish they had made a better ending.

I'm sorry that I expected a $60 ending of a trilogy to actually have a good conclusion. Too much to ask for! Rue the day when people actually expect to get their money's worth out of something. You aren't even acknowledging that up until the ending the game was worth $60.
Of course, you're just trying to cover your ass after that wonderful debut post of yours.
And exactly where did I say that you spoiled the ending for me?
It was a generalized 'you'. Not directed to your person.

Yes that's it you are so smart.
I care what people on Facepunch think about my posts woe is me.
From what I am seeing in this thread you guys did get your money's worth. I'd rather the whole game be good and the end suck than the game suck and the ending is good. Asking Bioware to go against their own artistic direction is not only rude, but it is just plain entitled.
The HL series never had a real "good" ending
Half-Life never had any real ending, because the series is still ongoing. Unlike the Mass Effect that was supposed to end with ME3, though I'm sure they'll milk it like there's no tomorrow with even more retarded romance and gay alien sex.

It's the conclusion to a fucking trilogy.
I'd expect something more than "everyone basically dies due to a red/blue/green laser beam, except not really since it's a fairy tale told by an old guy to his grandkid, now buy our DLC."
Call it entitlement all you want, because it is. The ending is a textbook copout. Stop being butthurt that you had the ending spoiled for you.

Much as I despise the ending to the game, it was not a "fairy tale." The grandfather was reciting history, not an urban legend.

I really don't care as I have no plans to play Mass Effect 3 ever, so it wasn't really that big of deal. I'm not being "butthurt" about anything. Certain gamers need to stop making all the rest of us look like cunts.

Boy's nice but he's dumber than a box of bricks. Artistic direction? How simple does it need to get before it penetrates your skull? Bioware promised a good ending. They delivered a shit ending. In what way is this a valid 'artistic direction?'
