life is strange is a great game
the game literally has not one instance of 'tumblr social justice', despite what people say
the only time i winced was when the protagonist made references to other popular media, which was seriously like only 2 or 3 times.
if you 'cringe' whenever teenagers are portayed then you need to a get a grip because you're probably gonna cringe at them in real life too
Literally every one of these types of games is thst though
which is sad too
its sad how undertale so perfectly does separate paths when games like this can't, even though it was made by 1 dude. Only other recent game I can think of where choices really felt like they mattered was the witcher, on occasion
games like this should diverge into completely different stories and possibly even locations after a certain point instead of being basically the same story with SLIGHTLY different outcomes
games about choice should /actually/ give you different paths to take, not just pretend you took a different path. Of/c, I'm not going off LiS personally since I've not played it.

Firewatch too was amazing, and I felt the journey was more important than the ending too, but I still felt OK with its ending. With most other choice based games that boast their number of endings you don't get actual variation, they all pretty much feel the same no matter what.
But on the topic of firewatch, [sp]At least firewatch cut the middle man and was honest by only giving you one ending, instead of pretending like your choices somehow mattered in some kind of grand scheme, even though they didn't change SHIT and you pretty much get the same outcome, or have either a ~EVIL~ and ~GOOD~ ending and that's it but give neither of them any actual meaning or merit. Fuck me, Witcher 3 did it flawlessly by giving you morally neutral endings and not fucking around with them, it didn't question your intelligence and actually respected you as a player by letting you take what you wanted from what you received.[/sp]
telltale has better writing though. which is more important in story based games. but that is a good point, other than the canvas painting art style the game felt fluid and looked nice
I agree with the better writing only because Life is Strange is filled with that good old we-don't-know-how-teenagers-talk teen slang.
Like maybe they should've actually got some teen input on their teen-centric game because while their conversations would've been acceptable years ago the game takes place in 2013 and I can't stand how they talk.
Sure the game has some cringe and your choices don't really matter but regardless it's a fun ride. Plus the soundtrack is pretty great too.
It's a good game

ive literally taught teenagers that talk like that
If you get over the teenager drama in the beginning, you will get one hell of a TV-Adventure game. I don't care about the choices thing, I completely enjoyed it.
Episodes 2-4 are great.
One of the main characters who is introduced at the start as a friend having a gun on the protagonist seems like a spoiler to me.
Something revealed within 20 minutes of the game is not a spoiler.
fuck you this game has
1. a major character that serves no purpose other than to be THE MCGUFFIN
2. a point at which the protag has a set goal and eventually FORGETS THAT GOAL and dooms her own adventure as a result because she's too busy spending too much time looking at art. i wish i was fucking making this up. the game literally loses its own plot and the protag has to self-correct where the whole story is even going.
3. the protag only having access to dumb teenager choices which defeats the purpose of allowing the player to make a choice in the first place
4. a scene that rips off the end of evangelion, down to an entire self-reflection dream sequence lit only by the color of a sunset, but ends flat on its fucking face as dull as a doorknob
5. unlikable characters that are written straight as an arrow, with the game expecting you to relate to them in some way. case in point "i do believe in gun control, if i control the gun. it's MEN that need to be checked." not shitting you, and this is supposed to be a good guy you must struggle to save constantly.
don't even believe anyone that says the game is good.
best thing to come out of this game was this rumor: according to someone that worked on the game, the plot was re-written as the series went along. bro team was taking the piss out of it and streaming it, drinking to every cringe moment or shitty writing moment, and gained a lot of popularity from it. the lead writer, supposedly, got very angry and locked himself in a room, re-writing the plot while yelling "that canadian fuck, i'm going to make him drink himself to death". everybody at the office was banned from mentioning bro team or watching the stream VODs in the office. and the idea of this is hilarious.

Surprise suprise a game about teenagers has teenagers who make teenage decisions and say teenage things
Sick fucking spoiler in the headline picture.
I really can't wrap my head around shit like this.
It wasn't a spoiler until you went and pointed out that it's a spoiler.
You plant the idea of it being a spoiler, if you had shut up nobody would have thought about it.
