Save the best for last amirite!?!
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is better than Forever.
I recommend to play it.
If we're gonna stray to that territory we may as well play Time to kill or Zero Hour.
It didn't take 12 years though. Most of the time was spent when 3D-Reals was sitting around their office staring at the ceiling tiles. Actual proper work did not start until it switched companies.
I wouldn't give gearbox too much credit. i remember the videos and screenshot swarm that was released shortly after the game was 'cancelled'. I'm still curious to know just how much gearbox did on it, though.
Because you guys always get the good shit first, now it's time for you guys to be the last ones.
hehe

I remember soooo many hours spent on Time to Kill. Land of the Babes was good too.
Duke 3D is and always will be the best, though.

Agreed, I was surprised with how fun Time to kill was. The octobrains scared me as a kid though, I don't know why.
Looks like consoles ruined it a bit.
I don't understand why people are all disappointed from this
DN3D was a pretty much generic shooter with some humor and extra features, and this is pretty much the modernization of the same thing, so what were people expecting exactly?
Well, in Duke 3D, you got to explore the maps more and there was a shitload of secret places that held guns, ammo, and health. In Duke Forever, you only had one path and weren't given much freedom.
It's funny, I'm not really interested in this game. Maybe since I didn't play the original.
Hey guys remember when I said this game would suck and everyone was like GTFO guess what
i believed you gary
Hey guys remember when I said this game would suck and everyone was like GTFO guess what
How long ago did you say this? Cause I think I remember everyone knowing it was going to be "bad". (I still liked it).

He said it pretty much every time a new trailer/gameplay video was posted since the beginning of 2011. And he got a box fort every single time, as well as several posts saying "No you just don't get it."

Well if it was as recent as the beginning of this year then I'd have to agree the game was "bad".
The reason behind why U.S. is getting the release on the 14th instead of the 10th is due to major Game distributing stores (Gamestop, BestBuy, Walmart, etc.) get shipments for video games on Tuesdays...which as it just so happens is when DNF gets released. :buddy:
Hey guys remember when I said this game would suck and everyone was like GTFO guess what
i said it back in 2010
then i said it again because my friend participated in a playtest ages ago and said the game was shite
so hah to you garry
[editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
Looks like consoles ruined it a bit.
the duke nukem's that were console exclusive were pretty great too
I ordered the BoS edition from Play.com months ago. I got an e-mail last night saying my card was declined and my order was cancelled.
Why the fuck would they wait until now to fucking tell me that. :byodood:
because they are assholes and only charge your card close to when it's released.
same happened to my brother , he preordered Star Craft 2 and then spent money on stuff , and then when it was about to be released his preorder was revoked because he didn't have enough money in his bank
Fiinally i can die peacefully..Well sure was nice meeting ya guys!

no you have to wait for episode 3
no you have to wait for episode 3
Goddamnit
Ha ha, DNF released June 10 in Australia, Europe, and Japan and took those guys' money, allowing us North Americans to benefit, by having four days to read reviews and decide to save our money for a better title if we want to.
I hope it was Gearbox who fucked it up.
So I heard this game was a dud.
They tried to hard with the humor, but the level design and boss fights seemed to stack up nicely with the earlier games, It's nice to know that gearbox didn't fuck up too badly on DNF.
I hope it was Gearbox who fucked it up.
Impossible. Gearbox only had the game for seven months. They finished up what 3D Realms left off with, and built off 3D Realm's storyboard so this game seems like it was bound to fail.
The game is good fun if you get it for free, but if I would definitely feel sorry for my wallet if I had paid for it. (Didn't torrent it)
Just another average game that's going to get dumped in a pile of mediocrity. What ruined it for me (aside from the poor shooting mechanics and the fact you can't carry tons of weapons) is regenerating health and UHH UHH UHH WHERE IS IT WHERE IS IT UHH UHH!

10 years ago, GOTY material but most of the cool stuff shown here isn't in the final game.
It didn't take 12 years though. Most of the time was spent when 3D-Realms was sitting around their office staring at the ceiling tiles. Actual proper work did not start until it switched companies.
Uh, I'd say most of the work went into actually making the game, that went trough like 3 different builds before actually getting to the current one. Just that everytime they'd get something done to a somewhat playable point, they'd notice that the game seems too outdated compared to other games and they'd start over again. And I'm pretty sure gearbox just took what 3d realms had already done and simply put it to a finished state.

That version is definitely the best one that was ever shown.
why couldn't they record more than one sound for jumping?
UH UH UH UH UH UH
