I'm surprised no one has commented on the “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award. Because not a single one of those entries have villains who need hugs. None of them are victims of circumstance or anything otherwise noteworthy. Every antagonist in each of those games are 1-dimensional, cold-blooded sociopaths, except for Portal 2 where the character is just a moron played for laughs.
I'd still hug [sp]Wheatley[/sp] tbh.

The "better with Friends" award just shows how little movement we had in co-op games
The "better with Friends" award just shows how little movement we had in co-op games
There have been some excellent co-op games but you have to remember that this is a popularity vote so the all time big best sellers are the ones you're gonna see
-Team Fortress 2 - 2007- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
if tf2 wins this category then it's fucking rigged
I still have plenty of fun with TF2. Cosmetics asside all they've done is improve balance and add new content. Most people bitching about 'new tf2' don't even play, the core game is still there.
You can say TF2 still has the same core gameplay but it's kind of like saying Chex Quest is every bit as good as Doom because they have the same core gameplay. The sea of neon-colored cosmetics, weapon paint, particle effects, new taunts and shit detract from the experience and cause me to enjoy the game less. And you're right, I don't play it anymore. Because I enjoy it less.
Since it's super obvious that they didn't go with the votes at all, I wish they would release the actual vote numbers somewhere down the line. Would be interesting to see the actual opinions of the people who voted.

No mention of that 'game that deserves a sequel' reward because everyone knows what it is [sp]Ricochet 2[/sp]
Now that I think about it, MGSV deserves the “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” Award because
This is pretty much the sole reason I voted for it.
People are so adamant over giving it shit because they get butthurt over hats and f2p players when the problem is that salt mine dwelling, conservative, elitist fanbase that might as well shove a vanilla bush into their rears
Here I thought people were complaining about Valve's severe lack of maintaining the game, along with a completely rushed and sloppy Competitive mode that was hyped for over a year, that came out, turned out to be a complete joke, and now no one even plays it. TF2 has good core gameplay, but Its not getting any awards from me about surviving the test of time.
I dont know what's so hard about believing tf2 being on there?
What the hell, why there is no EDF 4.1 in "Whooaaa, dude!" award category?
I dont know what's so hard about believing tf2 being on there?
most people believe that tf2 is so shit to the other alternative[del]s[/del] out there
Not sure why people are criticizing TF2 for being a nominee in Test of Time though. Sure maybe through the eyes of someone who has played it for years it's gotten old, but if you see it from the view of a new player it's really hard to tell TF2 was made in 2007.
Because it's really hard to enjoy the game when every match has stacked teams and Valve has no incentive to do anything about it when they're too busy making billions of dollars on a daily basis. The only thing that will ever prompt action from Valve is if they were to LOSE money

He wasn't like this before the events of the game. Amazing how a bunch of 4chan shitposters make a better award show than valve [editline]20th December 2016[/editline] Seriously though these awards feel rigged as fuck
My friends and I submitted 'The Most Gifted Game' / 'Best Game to Gift to Friends' award I was expecting that to be so popular imagine the list though -GTA V -Don't Starve Together -Rocket League -Dead By Daylight -Bad Rats
What the hell, why there is no EDF 4.1 in "Whooaaa, dude!" award category?
I seriously expected EDF being in the The “Boom Boom” Award. Sucks to see that Tower Unite didn't get any awards.
I voted LISA: The Painful for villain most in need of a hug. [sp]Works even if you consider Brad the villain instead of Rando. Hell even Buzzo had a pretty awful upbringing.[/sp] Though I'm also surprised Undertale made the crying one and not the hug one considering hugging your enemies is a big part of that game.
No Ultimate Doom/Doom II in "Test of Time"? Skyrim kids really like to ruin everything.
I can't help but feel that Skyrim was nominated due to a technicality of people voting for the recent remaster. Also, Skyrim gets nominated, but San Andreas, Resident Evil 4 and Doom '93 don't? Also, is it just me or were the only nominated free to play games conveniently Valve games? Granted it's been a lousy year regarding free to plays, but surely more than DOTA2 and Team Fortress 2 were nomination worthy for something.
Well, Paladins is also there.
I'm surprised it got nominated at all, since everyone loves to hate Hi-Rez for abandoning Tribes Ascend.
These community awards prove once again that people generally have terrible taste. And can't put things into the right categories.
Ark doesn't even have farm animals what the fuck
didn't the DLC for Civ V make it BETTER over time? that's a weird one
Test of Time - Terraria, Skyrim, Civ 5 What the hell these all came out after 2010 of course they don't feel old?? where is roller coaster tycoon? Disgusting
Ultimate Doom/Doom II should've been in this. I wouldn't be surprised if the vote was split between the two weakening it. [editline]20th December 2016[/editline]
if tf2 wins this category then it's fucking rigged
Not liking TF2 is one thing, but arguing that the 9-year-old game isn't still popular and couldn't have conceivably won a nomination when... [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7333627/ShareX/2016-12/20T144527.png[/t] ...Is kinda ridiculous. [editline]20th December 2016[/editline] Like, I know that a lot of people on here don't want TF2 to be successful, but the fact is that it's still successful. I don't even play the game anymore or find it that fun but even I can recognize the facts when I see them.
No Ultimate Doom/Doom II in "Test of Time"? Skyrim kids really like to ruin everything.
It really is incredible how Doom has not only managed to stand the test of time, but also get better the older it gets.

It's aged decently in the art department. But the game certainly isn't doing great in any other departments - music, level design, etc. "age" doesn't mean player count.
I think the frustration comes down to the fact that TF2 really hasn't aged well. It's aged decently given in the art department. But the game certainly isn't doing great in any other departments - music, level design, etc. "age" doesn't mean player count.
The bottom line is that a sizeable number of people voted for TF2 for the test of time award because they still play it and enjoy it even though I personally might not. It is most likely not a Valve rigging conspiracy. If you disagree with your peers in a video game award ceremony, I suggest you get over it like I have.
