But yet again, the guy with the biggest gun also has ammo.
Just a note here... that biggest gun is usually quite inaccurate and seeing how many bullets it shoots in little time it makes sense to me that they give it the ammo since its the class who spends largest ammount of bullets for single target.
Besides medics having lmg's like in the bad company series? Yeah never seen any medic from any country in real life using lmg as their standart weapon.
Fuck yes, this is the best way to do it if they had to use the 4 class system from BC, no more unstopable LMG guy and no more unlimited grenade launcher barrage.
I don't like the idea of medic being combined with assault. Doesn't that seem like a bad idea to anybody else? The class could tank it all the way through easily.
If you think about it, the only way they could go with this is to allow us to customize the assault class. So if I want to be assault with medic equipment I can be that or, if I want to be a full assault/assault with grenade launchers and shit I can be that. I don't think they mean the assault will have both medic and assault equipment at the same time, but who knows who am I to say any of this.
What about that picture they just posted?

So medic is assault now or what?
The suppression thing sounds awesome though, I've always tried doing that in games, now it will actually do something.
Better picture.

Personally, I just think the medic's LMG should have been substituted for a smaller, less powerful weapon..
bring back bf2 classes it was balanced, i dont want to play wookie simulator 2
Wookies are now extinct. They are not adding Ghillie suits.

Are there any non-urban environments? I prefer the urban environments because of the added vertical maneuverability but BC2 had some nice maps with interesting terrain.
I'm happy about the medic/assault change. I mean I guess they made Assault sorta useful by letting them drop ammo in BC2 but they usually just did it for themselves. Now they just need to do something to make Recon less useless.

I'm positive there are. It wouldn't be a battlefield experience if there weren't any large open fields for tank battles and whatnot.
Intriguing.
I've always thought that in BF:BC2 it would have been better if they gave the medic a locked submachinegun weapon. Seems a bit painful to be carrying that much equipment as support yeah?
But I really do not want them to lock the classes either. RO was fine, but if you're forced to choose a class you do not specialize in, where's the fun in that?

Well you get better at using that class then.

Well there's Wake island.
They need to limit the number of players using the same class in a team, so the game doesn't turn into medics constantly reviving eachother, or wookies turning the pace of the game into a tea party.
DICE shouldn't impose any limits on class selection, that should be left to stupid server mods. DICE needs to design the game in such a way, that a mix of classes is the best option to win. The fact that everyone goes medic or sniper in public games should be allowed but it shouldn't be a great strategy.
I found this reply in the comments hilarious.
So, BF3 is stealing its good features from RO2, while RO2 is maintaining all those that DICE keeps dropping: public server files, proper LAN support, modding, etc, etc.
My wallet says that RO2 will be bought soon, and that DICE can go fuck themselves.
Also I think Red Orchestra does class limiting perfectly, with class limiting it gives you the perfect set of limits for each team so they are balanced but it doesn't come down to who has the most MGs wins, it comes down to how a person in that position can use the class or how the team sets up and where they go. A sniper in RO can drastically change the outcome of the battle depending how good the person playing is or how experienced they are in that role. This also encourages new users to not play the advanced classes as they might not help and let their team lose.
Hvaing no class restrictions is going to make it end of like BC2 where everyone chooses sniper and thinks of only helping themselves and not the whole team.
For one who is good at completely missing the enemy I +1 the suppression system.
Does this mean I can sit in a corner, and spray bullets all over the enemy spawn getting free xp?
But yet again, the guy with the biggest gun also has ammo.
Yes, since any class can lay down surpressive fire, the support class has to have some sort of advantage. That advantage being (practically) unlimited ammunition.

If that's your idea of fun, then go ahead

Bad Company 2 had white hills with huts as well as brown and green hills with huts and sometimes it had beige flatlands with huts
Very interesting
At some point, they just need to do away with classes.
Make everything have a weight or a point value. You get a certain allotment of weight or points to spend.
If you take a medkit or an engineer kit, it is going to eat up a bunch of your space, leaving you with just enough to haul a few frags, a sidearm, and a carbine rifle/shotgun/SMG.
Ammo should be provided by stationary boxes and troop transport vehicles. This allows machine guns and under barrel grenade launchers to operate as they are supposed to on the battlefield.
People wanting to be assault can grab a fullsize battle rifle with underslung grenade launcher and slot any extra space for more magazines or 40mm grenades.
People wanting to use an LMG can grab that and slot extra spaces for MG boxes. You could even set it up so that players NOT using LMG's could slot spaces for LMG ammo and would automatically hand it off to nearby LMG players who need it. Effectively creating the MG user/assistant combo that exists in reality without forcing the tactic upon players.
This design would also allow for a wider variety of AT weapons. Devoted AT users could grab a SMAW or a Javelin launcher (Plus sidearm/SMG). The SMAW offering a choice of shells and more rounds, while the Javelin offering much longer range and high damage in exchange for extreme weight. The system for slotting ammunition you don't have the weapon for could also apply here, so that you could have two man teams with one carrying spare missiles. ALSO this offers up the opportunity to introduce disposable launchers for non-dedicated AT users. Like an assault guy could elect to carry an AT-4 instead of an underslung launcher.
There could be different weight tiers too. So if you have a smaller amount of gear on, you can move faster and run further. I'd also love to see weight restrictions for using vehicles. So in order to fly a jet or main battle tank, you have to be in the first weight tier. The second tier would be restricted to IFV's, Trucks, and Jeeps. The third tier wouldn't be able to drive anything but a jeep.
Wait they aren't adding ghillie suits? Damnit I loved hiding in the bushes picking off people from afar. Especially on Dragon Valley or Daqing Oilfields where it was very hard to see someone using their ghillie suit correctly.

Thats the system used in MAG...I mean the point system.
Armor even takes up points.
The only reason I'm not getting it is because it's not going to be on steam
EA just had to go and get sand in their vagina before the release of BF3
The game not being on Steam is such a superficial thing I don't see why people are so rectally pained about it
The game not being on Steam is such a superficial thing I don't see why people are so rectally pained about it
Everyone expected it to be on Steam until recently
And why is it such a big deal
because having your shit handled by steam makes it piss easy.
Please, stop discussing this Steam thing again.
We went over it in the last thread.
Good to see that the engineer gets a rifle now.
