Well I just fucked my GTAIV install again, dunno why but my Trainer mod isn't working. And every restart my game defaults the res to 640x480...
I don't want another reinstall.
Frank West confirmed for being star of GTA V.
Uh, yeah, what's the problem? You said you ran it on high settings with DX11 in 35 FPS, I don't see the problem there.
I'd say the problem is that he shouldn't be getting 35fps, considering I have a slightly less powerful computer and had 80+ frames the entire game, usually sat around the 100's.
MP3 did a fuckton of technical wizardry which you could only do in a linear game (Like having cutscenes every 20 seconds in which to load the next section)
The amount of detail in the set-pieces in that game, especially during the shantytown areas would be impossible in a sandbox game of today.
I'm more interested in the fact that they, intentionally or otherwise, probably just confirmed our protagonist. He was the most likely but having him flying a jet kinda seals the deal until Rockstar says otherwise.
Rate me boxes or whatever, but why was there such a bigass difference in map size between GTA: SA and GTA IV???
It was an entirely new engine that they hadn't really flushed out properly yet. They have greatly optimized it and improved on it now. They've already said that this one will have the largest game world they have ever created. Bigger than San Andreas, bigger than Red Dead Redemption, all of them.
Please PLEASE be as optimized as Just Cause 2 was
That was optimized? I ran it worse than GTA IV.
but...there was no dx11 3 years ago
[editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
those specs should get him at least 100
Ok. Almost 3 years ago, jeez. Point is if my GTX 480 and i7 950 can max that game with 60 fps and have absolutely no drops (vsync enabled because screen tearing was super noticeable) then why can't he?

Not really, it would just be 60+ GB. Lods and stuff can handle tons of shit, I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of detail in GTA 5 is double that of GTA4.

Does anybody else feel like this is THE direction AAA development should be heading? I.E focusing on making larger, open and more fleshed out game worlds instead of raising the polygon count and system requirements in the name of "photo-realism"?
When did Frank West become a pilot?
Why on earth would they use console pics for press shots?
because like every other GTA game they're thinking of the console versions first, how have you people not grasped this yet
People were talking about preformance compared to GTA4.
Well you also got to remember GTA4 also ran like crap on consoles as well, pop in, texture loading, not just the PC version had that.
The pc version while running like crap at release still ran better then the console version on high end systems.
So even if the PC port of GTAV runs like crap, it will still be running better, maybe.
If they've optimized the engine then we should be fine.
Did they forgot to turn on the Anti Aliasing when making these pictures or something? :v:
they secretly implying there will be no AA on the PC version, just like GTAIV :v:
I dislike how this gta is on the same console generation as the last major one, makes me feel a little weird, like there won't be too many differences, at least not enough to warrant a new sequel, guess we'll see though
That was optimized? I ran it worse than GTA IV.
I thought it ran much better than GTAIV, and the way it handled far-away landscaping was amazing and made the game look awesome.
When did Frank West become a pilot?
He's covered wars, you know.
He's covered wars, you know.
By the looks of it he's started wars
Neat, they didn't blur the shit out of the pilot of the jet. It's probably this guy:

Every time I see this picture I keep thinking it looks like John Noble from behind, and considering Rockstar got him to be a character in L.A. Noire it's possible they also got him to be a character in GTA5.
GTA IV was fun, got a good kick out of it but it was a little dull
Nothing like the days of GTA SA
I hope they bring this shit back

I would sit on a hill and just listen to this, so funny.

I love rockstar humor so much
I fucking love the radio stations, the talk radio in particular.

IV was miles better on the technical side of things (ragdoll physics, vehicle damage, etc...), but it was lacking atmosphere wise as, while I think the drab and dull setting fits the city, drab and dull isn't very interesting.
I'm rather optimistic that V will be a good mix of all the cool technical stuff from IV with the atmosphere from San Andreas. Oh, and not being a shit port would be great too.
because like every other GTA game they're thinking of the console versions first, how have you people not grasped this yet
Uh so?
You'd still use PC because it'd look far better unless it's really that under developed
Possibly they haven't finished porting it yet :v:
I'd be happy if we got Tanks back in the game, I loved blowing shit up.
Also those crazy cheats that were in San Andreas.
one thing i want is A GOD DAMN PORTABLE RADIO
so when i'm walking on foot i can at least have the option to listen to the radio at any time
(preferably while in a massive firefight with cops/gangs/zombies whatever)

they better have fucking lazlow and since it's in San Andreas, wctr <3

IV dullness created a dark atmosphere, like all the hope and opportunity people promised went down the shitter, San Andreas was bright and colourful, so I hope they have that atmosphere (which I think they will seeing as this is set on being big, new future, new hope)

He was in every single GTA game so I don't see why they'd drop him now.

Maybe trees won't be immovable objects in this one...
Wishful thinking.

Fixed it for ya
Nothing beats driving full speed into a brick wall on IV :v:
