Hoping for a jetpack again.
I dislike how this gta is on the same console generation as the last major one, makes me feel a little weird, like there won't be too many differences, at least not enough to warrant a new sequel, guess we'll see though
GTA1 and 2 were on the PS1, it's really no different, same with VC and SA on PS2
I hope it doesn't have the skill leveling system from SA.
I hope it doesn't have the skill leveling system from SA.
I think most people do want it back. It was fun to waste time on that unless you wanted to rush through the entire game asap. It was cool to work out in gyms and to see your character actually change to that

Everything was just "mash buttons for an hour to make your CJ suddenly look like he's on steroids" or "spend 30 minutes eating food at a restaurant to make your CJ look like a fat person caricature". And the fucking bullshit with the game forcing you to go out and spend a fuckton of time just swimming around only to progress the story was the worst fucking thing ever.
Uh so? You'd still use PC because it'd look far better unless it's really that under developed
That's not how advertisements work. Almost ALL images used for marketing are taken on the console versions. Why? Because if people who want it on the console see all this cool shit from images from the PC version, they're going to be extremely disappointed with the difference between what they wanted to buy and what they actually bought. Atl east with console screenshots us PC gamers can say "ha that looks pretty nice, but damn that's gonna look even better with some AA slapped on" and shit like that.

This is not even advertising - people wanted screenshots, so Rockstar gave them some.
The amount of detail in the set-pieces in that game, especially during the shantytown areas would be impossible in a sandbox game of today.
Watch Dogs seems to be coming close.
One thing I love about GTA releases (and the majority of Rockstar release for that matter) is that it is one of the only game series' ever that I get excited about with no concerns. Unlike the COD games, Resident Evil games, Battlefield games etc etc, it is almost a given that the next GTA will be nothing short of amazing.

There's plenty of time to roleplay in GTAV during missions and shit without some skill leveling system. There are clothes to choose from, there are certain types of guns you prefer, the cars you prefer to drive..
It was an entirely new engine that they hadn't really flushed out properly yet. They have greatly optimized it and improved on it now. They've already said that this one will have the largest game world they have ever created. Bigger than San Andreas, bigger than Red Dead Redemption, all of them.
Following up on this, they've said it only covers Los Santos and the surrounding countryside. However, a lot of people have pointed out that they only showed off Los Santos for San Andreas and refused to acknowledge the rest of the state as existing for quite a while. A lot of people have also noted a few oddities such as a freeway shown in the trailer that, in real life, leads to San Diego (Los Puerta in the GTA world) and passes through San Fransisco. Others have also pointed out that one of the screenshots seems to show off Mount Chiliad, which is south of San Fierro in San Andreas.
Just being able to have the Pedestrians riot with guns cheat again would seal the deal for me...

Think about it. The Los Puerta Freeway is on Interstate 5, which is an actual interstate highway that goes up and down the West Coast. This should mean that Los Santos is entirely landlocked to the continental United States, instead of stuck on an island like before. Now, remember, before you could go an infinite distance away from the main area of the map but it would consist of nothing but ocean. Now you're looking at a city that's surrounded by land on each side except for the coast. This means one of two things: 1. There's going to be an invisible wall at the end of the "actual" map, which I just couldn't see happening, especially with things like planes coming into view and considering that Rockstar never did this before with any of the other GTAs (except for III which had a border boats couldn't go over, but even then you could fly the Dodo past it). 2. They've made the engine somehow able to continue generating terrain outside of the normal map barriers. Therefore, if you continue to travel towards the mountains, you'll continue to see mountains. Whether these mountains would be randomly generated or generated based on a pattern or what have you is uncertain. Additionally, you could also travel down I-5 or another highway, but you would not go anywhere and the highway continues straight for an indefinite period of time which leads to you thinking you'll actually go somewhere. I'm not really sure how feasible this is with the current hardware (and it would almost definitely crash the server or your game if you continue travelling down it), but it could very well be possible. Additionally, if they decided to make a Los Puerta, San Fierro, etc, DLC (not saying they will, but that'd be awesome), they could simply just extend the map in the direction they want to make the city (assuming, of course, that the engine can handle that; I don't know much about RAGE). Either way, this could mark a pretty remarkable change in how immersible travelling outside the city can be, for better or worse.

It's hard to say at this point. All we're hearing is Los Santos and surrounding countryside. It sounds pretty open to me. We could definitely be seeing the return of the other cities (or new ones) or it could just be actual countryside. I do recall there being a gas station out on a dirt looking road from the trailer though. It was called Ace and had the card symbols on the sign. That could be a hint to Venturas.

I think we'll be seeing more than one city since we're getting airplanes. I don't think Rockstar is going to make us land at one airport in Los Santos and a couple airfields in the middle of nowhere.

They do it to mislead people. In this case they are probably console screenshots because they haven't ported the game to PC yet, considering they are 1280x720. Also nothing stops them from cranking up all the settings to maximum and to take screenshots with 5 FPS.

they used the same parachute from GTA IV EFLC? oh waoh obviously running on consoles, that resolution is horrific, as well as the endless jaggies. I had hopes, now they are slowly draining. Only remaining factor is that it's open world and I can do whatever the fuck I want in it.
Man, those screenshots are ugly, especially the first one. From an aesthetic stand point it looks great though, and I'm buying on PC so this shouldn't be much of a problem.
I am more excitied about the settings which looks great compared to GTAIV. We can be 100% sure that the graphics will be ATLEAST as good as GTAIV. Which is fine for me.
guys riding a motocross screenshot people playing tennis screenshot base jumper screenshot
OH MY FUCK i will have this game just please don't be a GTA4 boring story clone that no one cares about bring back the humor from vice city and the craziness from SAN:AN speaking of which, do you think they'll bring back that whole, relationship thing like in san:an and GTA4? (i'm really hoping the game is more like SAN:AN than 4)
