You know what other dev fed us the "we are passionate about XXX IP!" shtick? Gearbox. And they delivered us Aliens Colonial Marines. I could not be any more apprehensive if I tried.
True but this time, the dev has a previous iteration to build upon. That and my post was mainly aimed at the introduction of photogrammetry and how the game is actually looking rather than whatever ass kissing story Dice had to tell.
Regardless of whether the game will be good or not. It will be shat on by microtransactions and premium now that Battlefield 4 has them too.
if its done the way battlepacks are then thats completely fine really oh man some1s paying 2 win for these xp boosters and attachments for guns they dont have/use
Feels like a damn F2P game, at least Battlefield 3 did for me with the constant Premium adverts everywhere on the site and ingame and people getting ahead of you in queues because they paid extra. Fuck that shit.
if theres anything ive learned its not to trust E3 footage
DICE's E3 footage has normally been what you see in the final Product. but mind you this footage is 1.5 years before the game is even out.
if its done the way battlepacks are then thats completely fine really oh man some1s paying 2 win for these xp boosters and attachments for guns they dont have/use
Personally I don't like progression systems and having to spend like 50 hours before I can play with the guns I want to begin with, so microtransactions just make it feel even worse. Like I already bought the game just let me access the content the way I want to.
I really hope they don't fuck up the space gamemode, I loved that one.

But I don't think there are enough weapons or attachments from the Star Wars Movies to have a progression system like Battlefield. I guess they could always make their own designs on top of existing ones. [editline]1st February 2015[/editline] If they make their own weapons, I hope they follow what the movies did, and have them be modified real life weapons.
battlepacks didn't give you weapons to begin with tho the shortcut packs are something else but really its just something you have to deal with in mp shooters these days
Yeah, exactly, the Shortcut packs are not Pay2Win anyways, they don't give you all the attachments, and they don't make you better at the game.
if not, it would be amazing to have the bots be grunts/cannon fodder type units and the players all be somewhat higher ranking units
Why not both?
However, Battlefront 1 and 2 were just glorified Battlefield games anyway.
...in space!
Let's be honest. Even if EA will cock this up and ruin the Battlefront series, people will still insta pre-order the game, EA will make lods of money, and call it a day and laugh at all the posts at reddit as people are complaining and says they will never buy another EA title again. Then the cycle starts over. I hope I will be wrong, and it will be a great game, but my hopes arn't very high when it comes to EA.

I'm talking really bad. I guess the quality just dictates where in it's price cycle I'll pick it up.
I seriously think that this game will end up being fun as shit even if they DO fuck it all up.
Merge the series together, create a game just called "Battle". Problem solved.
Frontfield

I feel like I'm the only one who wouldn't mind the new Battlefront being a Battlefield 3/4 clone.
