I'm keeping my PS3 for Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1 & 2, and GTA V.
Plus I have all those PS+ games I downloaded.
I wonder what the new model will look like.
To think in a few years the ps3 will be like the ps2, everyones still got one, they are dirt cheap to buy and the graphics will still be awesome.. but the main difference is how long until they kill off PS3's network?

If this was in the $299 price point this would be ideal.
Is this going to be the £100 end of console lifespan release?

The current 500GB model with two games included is already $299

Playstation 3 Super Slim (250 GB) Uncharted 3: Game Of The Year Bundle in unused condition is listed on Ebay for $200.
The one listed on eBay is used.
But I got my 500GB Super Slim bundle for the same price :v:

No it's not completely the same.. Playstation Plus.. There's big differences with the next version of PSN.
I own a Super Slim and it doesn't feel flimsy at all. When horizontally oriented, the sliding of the top sounds really plastic-y, but that's it really. Not to mention the size difference between the Slim and SS is huge.
I still got my original PS2 from original release (Still fucking works too). That thing is fucking huge.
I hope they improve the loud cooling system
The current super slim is the quietest PS3 actually, it's just the disc drive that's loud.

I hope they managed to merge cell and RSX onto one chip.

And then later, Sony announces a NEW PS4, that quite pricey, but has ~"backwards compatibility"~
On a more serious note though, IF Sony does that, they should also showe the architecture of the PS2 onto there.
After all, they're soon gonna stop selling the PS2 (if they already hasn't) but that doesn't mean the PS2 games are old & shit.

I think it's possible that the PS4 could have a legacy add-on of sorts, that's a third layer to the design containing stuff like the Cell and Emotion processors.

That little slot at the bottom looks like it opens up to reveal some sort of port, and I can't think of what else it could be. It's not for a hard drive because a 2.5" hard drive couldn't fit in that. I know it's really fucking optimistic thinking, but you never know. Furthermore, I vaguely remember them saying they had more to reveal on the hardware of the system at a later date.

I fixed mine by opening it up and shooting it with an air compressor for about a half hour.

Maybe you add more ram in, like a modern day N64
Tbh, i would be happy with just having some populair PS2/PS3 games in the online store.
Because at least for PS2 that means they can put it some high resolution patches, so it doesn't look like you are playing Pixel Tetris on your Full HD TV.
